Sudima Kaikōura, hotel in Kaikoura

Situated in Kaikoura, a few steps from Kaikoura Beach, Sudima Kaikōura features accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a restaurant.

It felt so lush, very good value for a premium accommodation. Our room was a twin bed and we could see the ocean. There was an alexa speaker playing jazz when we arrived at the room. The shower was amazing, two shower heads and lots of space. The body washes also smelt divine.

Location was perfect for walking to the Seal Colony along the path and the beach . The front Desk hours were very limited and the breakfast left a bit to be desired . But the location and the quaint courtyard make up for its downfalls.

Enjoyed the whale watching tour - the day was reasonably calm so no one was seasick thank goodness. Staff were informatiive and shared the story of the whales and dolphins. The map showing us the travel route was very helpful to understand the trnech and which direction and area we were headed to.

Kaikoura is a 2 hr drive from our home, so we regularly visit for long weekends. It's a special part of NZ where people and nature can interact. There's something special about how the mountains meet the sea. And of course the fresh seafood is spectacular

    WhaleWatch trip was very good.

WhaleWatch trip was very good. Great cafes: Flo and Co has excellent coffee. Sime's Kitchen had great breakfast and lunch - vegan choices were delicious. Tipsy Foodies also recommended. Southern Paua shop and factory highly recommended - amazing range of jewellery, carvings and gifts. Some exquisite pounamu too. Best place to buy gifts in Kaikoura!! Novel Findings is a great bookshop and homewares shop - don't miss it! Loved the Ngāi Tahu artworks beside the highway, murals on the railway bridge and buildings. It's really worth checking the "Neat Places Kaikoura" website - lots of great suggestions for cool places and things to do in Kaikoura.

The wild life was definitely the highlight of the trip for me. I went swimming with dolphins and saw load of seals with their pups. Also the people in the town are super friendly and helpful. Of course the scenery is also breathtaking. Loads of nice eating places that serve great seafood.

This property was in a good location directly opposite the beach. It had a comfortable bed, clean linen, kitchenette and the bathroom appeared to be recently modernized. The shower room was a decent size and was fully tiled. The shower water was hot. The large tv included Netflix. We were close to the Pier Hotel where we had an evening meal and it was beyond excellent. We walked the seal colony walk which was beautiful. We would stay here again and the price was fair.

It's our first trip to Kaikoura and we found everything's perfect here - clear instructions from Richard and Moira, finest equipment (basically everything we need from a house is available), superb sceneries (we got both open sea and mountain!), and quiet neighbourhood. Love our getaway weekend here and wish we could have stayed longer! It's cozy like a house but with a quality of 5*. Look forward to coming back again on our next trip to Kaikoura.

This is a home for the elderly or disabled. The lady running it didn’t seem to understand what to do. No WiFi and despite me asking again the lady running the place had no clue how to resolve the problem. In the end we didn’t stay, we moved to another hotel, that is how poor it was. It states that the hotel is in Kaikoura, it is NOT, it is several kilometers away n the middle of a residential area. We were VERY dissatisfied.

This property was clean, comfortable and had kind staff. The view was beautiful and location was peaceful. Close to the Pier Hotel Restaurant which was good quality. Seal colony within walking distance. The bed was comfortable and had fresh linen. Nice bathroom and the shower had good water pressure. We had a upstairs unit and it was worth the price! We plan to come back here again for a much longer stay next time!

Nikau Lodge is a lovely place to stay in Kaikoura. Karen, Mick and Jaz go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The cooked breakfast in the morning was superb, as was the location. The room was lovely, spotlessly clean with an amazing view of the mountains. The best hotel / bed & breakfast that I’ve stayed in in recent years :-)

Amazing breakfast, location, room, facilities! Spa was lovely and so many homely touches. Best accomodation in Kaikoura hands down. Beautiful lounge and indoor and outdoor dining area with big comfy couches. Large selection of DVD's and homemade biscuits went down well! Stunning view from the room - clearly a lot of love put into this place!

Friendly welcoming! We took a chance to check in earlier and our room was ready. Very grateful for it. Cosy and close to the great vibe of Kaikoura. Walking distance to nice restaurants, shops, café, well everything. It was just what we needed. Also has a good outside BBQ facilities and recycling area. Will go back! Thanks

This has to be one of the nicest well looked after motels we have stayed at in awhile. It smelt fresh from the moment we walked in. The owners are super lovely and really helpful with everything you need and about the area. Comfortable units with comfortable beds. We definitely want to come stay again.
