There for Wanaka challenge - love Wanaka big time and so pleased the event will be back in town next year. Love Glendhu for weddings and can’t wait for for our daughter to marry her fab man there in October

Wanaka itself is a lovely spot.

Wanaka itself is a lovely spot. It was lovely without being too much of a tourist trap. The art gallery I visited was very good, and the two local restaurants also good and reasonably priced. The staff at the Thai restaurant were especially friendly and helpful. I wish I had stayed long enough to drive out to a few places from Wanaka.

    Great place to spend week.

Great place to spend week. Central to other destinations , good weather, all year round activities, good shopping, lots of resurants, friendly locals and a short drive to Queenstown Airport. (they may have their own soon)

Wanaka is magical with so many outdoor experiences on offer with friendly helpful staff one can be as energetic or restful as desired. As a senior person I felt very safe exploring the area when on my own.

Queenstown's 'little brother' really has nothing to be shy about. It's smaller, less commercialised than Queenstown, but also has a more relaxed vibe. The lake is beautiful, there are plenty of outdoor activities but without the relentless drone of jetboats etc Didn't play golf but the course looked good. We did a winery tour, went horse riding and generally soaked up the relax. Coffee at Ritual was excellent, as was the beer at Speights Ale House. Also had a great meal at Bistro Gentil, and I should note that the staff at all these locations were great - friendly, efficient. Wanaka report card: A+

Wanaka was our favourite stop on the south island - after an initial overnight stop, we went back for another 5 days. Wanaka is big enough to have all you could reasonably needs, but lacks the hustle and bustle (gross overcrowding) in Queenstown. Adventure and exploring opportunities are many and the locals are incredibly friendly and welcoming.

What a place! The apartment is stylishly designed, furnished to a high standard, well equipped and the hosts are fantastic. Kauri House Apartment offers a great place to stay in Wanaka. Bill and Noelene are kind, generous and hospitable hosts. Their level of hospitality is really over and above what you might imagine. And breakfast? Also superb. It really would not be out of place in a high end hotel. If you get the opportunity, you should book Kauri House for your stay in Wanaka - don't even hesitate a second!

Hosts Noelene and Bill were very friendly and very helpful. The apartment is well equipped right down to potato chips, nuts and the free breakfast was amazing, using fresh home grown vegetables. On arrival we received a chilled wine. The views from this beautiful apartment are amazing, high up on the hilltop overlooking Lake Wanaka. This is value for money. Would highly recommend. Once again, thank you Noelene and Bill for your amazing hospitality.

Decent place in the town centre, good price & value but the room could’ve done with some TLC. The heater was broken and there was a space heater but the room was still pretty chilly. Front desk lady was very friendly. Wifi was also pretty good, which was a nice bonus considering all the other places we’ve stayed had pretty shitty wifi. I’d stay here again if I was on a budget but I’d stay elsewhere if you could afford a bit more :)

Absolutely stunning view of Lake Hawea from our balcony. Very nice room across the parking area from the hotel restaurant and bar. We had a fridge and kettle for tea/coffee and a comfortable bed. No shopping at Lake Hawea which makes it a very peaceful place to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Wanaka is a 15 minute drive away if you need to shop. We had a very nice meal at the hotel with stunning views once again.

This apartment was wonderful! Spectacular views across the lake and mountains. There was so much space and the furnishings are to a high standard. It was great to have a garage to park the car. So nice to have a gas fire and plenty of heating to keep us warm. Jenny and the housekeeping team were really helpful and great to deal with. Very easy, short walk into Wanaka.

The property is comfortable, quiet, spacious and inviting! A lovely setting a bit removed from the frantic activity of downtown Wanaka, but still an easy walk. We also were delighted to discover that our unit, in addition to being spacious and well- appointed, had a washing machine! No dryer, but hanging the clothes on the rack provided worked fine!

Wanaka luxury apartment is in the quiet end of Wanaka and a 5 minute stroll through the park to the famous Wanaka lake and Wanaka tree. We were there in spring and the entire road is covered in cherry blossom trees in full bloom.
