Watch people walking along the beach which can be accessed just across the road. Our elevated position provides us with a panoramic scenery. Our light & airy studio apartment offers new European kitchen & bathroom. In fact it is pretty much all new! The kitchen is fully equipped & forms the centerpiece of the home. You can enjoy relaxed BBQs on the roomy balcony with bar leaner, outdoor dining table & intimate seating ideal for an afternoon drink. Wake up to stunning sunrises over the ocean, snuggled up in high-quality linen. The studio is totally private and separated with own access way & parking. Please do note that our driveway is steep & a bit tight! We will provide you with a welcome drink, tea & coffee. Our beachy theme combined with a touch of "kiwiana" creates an ambiance that will create lasting memories. Please also note that we have a "free-ranging" dog called Loulou on site; she is extremely chatty & likes to say "hi", therefore we would only recommend you stay here if you like animals.

My name is Sabina. Originally from Germany, I moved to Whakatane 20 years ago. I love Ohope & my quaint home & want to give others the opportunity to experience its unique ambience. It's is quite quirky and unique. I am also keen gardeners & invite you to my "homegrown" whatever may be in season. I look forward to hearing from you.

We live in the hub of Ohope on the hillside of Pohutukawa Ave. 4-square & liquor shop are just down the road. In fact, you can spot them both from the balcony. A tennis court is right nearby as well. We are 5 minutes walk for the shops at the beginning of Pohutukawa Ave. Quay Cafe, Moxi Cafe, Caderda (Mexican bar) Art gallery & distinct shop. Chartered Club is only a few minutes down the road as well, where a Craft market is conducted every 1st Saturday of the month throughout the year and over summer fortnightly. At the other end of the beach is the Port Ohope Store where you can also book paddleboard lessons or for more fine dining and meeting the best host, Tom, try the Fisherman's Wharf Cafe (booking essential). And further down is our 18 Hole golf course with club rooms. There is a kayak hire (KG Kayaks- check online) and also a Surf school at West End. And of course the most amazing playground our 11k beach plus harbour right on our doorstep. A must visit is the Otarawaire Bay which can only be accessed by foot or boat. For fantastic views we recommend checking out the Kohi Point lookout.
