Our portuguese-style house with spacious terrace is located in the historical center of Trafaria. This village is very family-friendly and known for it's amazing fresh fish and seafood as it is where the Tagus river meets the ocean. The house is a typical single-level Portuguese house with 3 bedrooms (double bedroom, twin bedroom and bunk beds bedroom). The bathroom has been modernized; the kitchen is spacious, has all needed appliances and kitchenware. You can have your meal in the kitchen area, or eat on the terrace. The terrace is spacious(80m2) and apart from a lounge/dinner area it has a BBQ and a Pizza oven. Most of our guests enjoy having their meals in the terrace either homemade or by picking it up from the restaurant that is located a couples of steps from the house. We kept the house with a traditional charisma but with all the needed comforts. The living room has entertainment: there is a TV, Netflix, Playstation, family games and books.
Joana is from Portugal, Arthur is originally from The Netherlands. We are both software engineers and moved to Portugal in 2019 to hopefully have a permanent holiday feeling. We love sharing our holiday home with you, and do our best in giving you a great holiday. Nice quiet village where the river meets the ocean with a full view of Lisbon. Because it's so close to Lisbon and the beach; it's the best of both worlds and a guarantee for a great holiday. Shops, restaurants and public transport are at your doorstep and you can be in Lisbon (Belém) in 15 minutes by ferry. Trafaria has a small beach and if you continue walking towards the sea you will find a larger beach little known as it is a well kept secret. Excellent beaches can be found in Costa da Caparica, 8 minutes by car or bike (2.4 km). It is still a charming village where you will find a morning market, fresh bread from the bakery, community center with billiards and beer. Several buildings may surprise you, such as one that locals call a "casino", here you will find a bar and events in a 1940s environment. In this village there have been several local initiatives including bicycle tours, cooking workshops with the grannies of the village and tours to wine cellars, castles and cheese shops. We can contact the locals to book these activities for you. There is also a bike rental shop but you have to book in advance, if you let us know we can handle it for you
