O Remoinho is an ancient windmill adapted as a house and entirely remodeled in 2014. It is about 500 years old and is a typical portuguese windmill used to mill cereals over the years. Due to its privileged location in the West coast, this windmill has served as a land reference point for navigation over the centuries. For that, it is referenced in the Portuguese navy still today.
I am passionate about old houses and gardens. I was lucky to find this beautiful old mill and personally dedicated four years to its restoration. It is with great pleasure that now I share it with travelers willing to be part of the new life of this centenary mill.
O Remoinho is located in a quite and familiar neighborhood, 5 minutes walk away from the town center and nearest beaches.
