The town is a strange mix of old and new, and the old is definitely the part worth seeing. One question we needed to answer was: how to try out the thermal waters without paying? The answer is to go to the Hotel Roman in the early morning, and bathe for free in the Cerna river just upstream from it - in the thermal springs and pools there. It's important to go early - in the tourist season at least - because it can get very crowded later, and there are not many places on the rocks to sit or dry your towel. Because it's free, there are no facilities, and no-one seems to clear up the litter. But all of that is made up for by the amazing, healing waters. We felt wonderful for 24 hours!

The place has a ton of potential but it is truly upsetting how in ruins it is, I was expecting at least Baile Tusnad level or Sovata but no, the place was a dump, it was full of stray dogs, no spring baths were functional, but the building were there but none of them renovated or even in the process of it. Also parking was expensive 1.25 EUR an hour? Are you mad? For this dump? I hope to revisit the place when the get themselves together, and renovate the place cause currently it is a dump and there is nothing worth visiting there, only if you wish to appreciate your home town more, but the city as it is, it was a dump.

As far as I'm concerned, there was nothing we can do apart from the indoor pool. No restaurants were opened through the city to have a decent meal after a long drive to get there. The hotel's restaurant served only buffet meals 3 times a day for an extra charge. Though we were not vaccinated, they've made an exception and checked us in (...they would have done anything in order not to refund for your booking)

I loved the hill walking around the town.
I loved the hill walking around the town. I also loved the history of the town but felt a little sad that so much of the grandeur had been left to decay. I know there are several places being 'spruced up' but generally it had a feeling of having seen its better days. I think, with some upkeep, tourists would flock here with the town's spas, history and hills.

Nice, clean hotel, friendly stuff, elevators, 24-hour front desk and free parking, breakfast pretty varied. Modern room with large bed, A/C, mini-bar and safe, private bathroom, toiletries (though the shower gel / liquid soap has too minty smell for me - but it's a matter of personal taste ). Free Wi-Fi. Robes and slippers provided. Balcony with chairs and towels rack. View to the mountain. Pretty quiet room (except from some intervals at night when there were dogs barking loudly).
This was by far the best vacation I had in Romania. I travel to Romania only every 10 years but I would go back to this wonderful place in few years for sure. Amazing staff. Amazing place. I was really impressed how helpful everyone was. Truly a relaxing and safe spot. I was there for 5 nights but I would of liked to stay for at least 10 nights. I will be back and can't wait. Keep the great work you all do service guests. :) Dalia
Everything starting with the perfect location on a narrow romantic street, 5 minute walking distance to the Baile Herculane parc. The view from the balcony is wonderful.
Sparkling clean (extremely important for us), very nice and kind hosts.
There is small fridge on the holway next to the room, but in addition, there's access to the big common kitchen where you can find whatever needed.
We really enjoyed our stay in Băile Herculane. The hosts were really kind and accommodating, and gave us great recommendations. The bed was really comfortable with super soft sheets, and there was a lovely view of the mountain and lots of cats outside :)
The flat was equipped with everything we needed and a good size. And it was very easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go.
Baile Herculane is a strange mixture - a modern, noisy, very touristy centre, and the beautiful old centre. Casa Papava is just down the road from the new centre. We were worried the music would be too loud to sleep - but it cut out at 2300 or thereabouts. The staff were very helpful. Parking is possible either just inside the driveway, or opposite.
It is a great accommodation close to the old centre of Baile Herculane. It is located in a very quiet neighborhood, within walking distance to Hotel Roman. The rooms were clean, spacious, the beds comfortable. The owner was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this accommodation.
Good price. They have a working swimming pool. Kids playground which is very nice. Acces to the river Cerna. Spacious yard with a nice lawn, free parking. Barbecue place with everything you need, from a little firewood to tupperware. The place is very nice for family vacations!
Great and clean accomodation. Host is friendly and recommend a good place to eat in Băile Herculane. Location is 5 minutes to the Town Center by car or 20 minutes by foot. You can park your car in front of the property on the sidewalk
The apartment was exactly as described, with all the comfort that you need, the hosts are really very friendly, the location...well, Baile Herculane has a history and is still under restoration, but the area is really nice.
I really liked the hotel staff. The receptionist was very friendly, helpful and polite. Also the room was very clean and well equipped. The breakfast was above expectations for a 2-star hotel.
Super hosts - welcoming, accommodating. The location is great too - all main attractions are accessible by foot. The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable too.
