Hello Hotels Bucuresti Gara de Nord, hotel in Bucharest

Just a 3-minute walk from the Gara de Nord Train Station, Hello Hotels offers modern, air-conditioned rooms and free WiFi. The center of Bucharest can be reached in 10 minutes by public transport.

I stayed only one night and the hotel and the room covered my expectations. Breakfast was good, basic but it was enough for me. It is close to the train station and that was the main reason why I decided to stay here. The subway takes you quickly to other parts of Bucharest.

FAQs about hotels in Bucharest

Where Modern Meets Old

A fascinating mix of old and new, Bucharest is one of those cities where you can find a futuristic structure of glass and steel next to an old church, separated by a Communist-style massive edifice. Not overwhelmed by its dark past, the city is now turning its optimistic face towards the West.

Undergoing constant modernization, the city continually changes and new modern structures pop up in the city center and beyond. Great examples are the stunning Basarab Bridge, Europe’s widest cable bridge, and the City Gate Towers.

While admiring the new, don’t miss out on the old classics, like the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, with over 3100 rooms and impressive marble interiors covering 81.5 acres. Make sure you check out the view from Nicolae Ceauşescu's balcony!

To fully appreciate the city’s long history, from Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) to the ’89 revolution, the city offers free guided walking tours, giving you a great opportunity to discover all the city’s secrets. And spot all the best shopping venues!

Before you land at Bucharest Airport, just 11 miles from the city center, make sure you check what Booking.com has to offer: from hotels to apartments, just a few clicks away!

Very urban megacity. Super hot in the summer. Poor transportation. Terrible railways. Nice parks. Excellent playgrounds for the kids. All stores open all day and many even at nights. Very dense super marketing. You can shop anytime anywhere. A bit behind the times compared with other European capitals. Not very friendly with using the Euro.

The natural history museum has annimated moving Dinosaurs in...

The natural history museum has annimated moving Dinosaurs in it's garden area and at the main enterance, so quite eye catching. There are certainly far more coffee shops in the town centre than bars, most of the coffee shops sell Costa Coffee. The best thing is that compared to the UK, in Bucharest drviers are required to stop if people are waiting to use a zebra crossing, very un like the UK where drivers consider zebra crossing as something to be ignored if people are waiting to cross the road. When your walking in one of the many main tree lined streets, leaving the city. You would think your in Paris, oh yes the drivers have two speeds flat out and break at the last moment. There a many restaurants in the main area of the city all with competitive prices, covering Local dishes, Chinese , Italian and yes there is an Irish bar naturally enough. Be sure to try the gelato shops they have very some very interesting flaours including mojtio Gelato yes it is veery tasty to. It's very easy walking around Bucharest Sector 1 is the poliltical, embassy and dental sector. While sector 6 is where the Carrefour shopping mall is 55 minute walk away from Sector but only 20 minutes or slightly less from the Gare du Nord ( yes named after it's big brother in Paris). So you can either get the bus from Henry Cordona Airport into the city which takes 90 minutes or the shutte trains the go every 20 minutes, they train journey is only 25 minutes runs 24/7 and costs wait for it £0.93p now you can pay on these trains using the on line ticket machines that, do not issue a ticket , or the conductors. All you have to do is point at the on line difital payment unitsin the carriages. So What will I avoid in Janaury don't stay in sector 6 as it's really to far out of the city. You will all the usual hotel chains in the city centre.

If you go to Romania, prepare yourself to become a crime victim. Everyone has his eye on you and is looking for any way to steal from you. If you can accept that, along with the shame and anger of being deceived and robbed, well then come one come all.

We have stayed there for 8 days, which was far more than we needed for this destination. The city center is full of bars and restaurants, but not much more to offer. The architecture and interesting places can be visited within 2-3 days. If you are interested in museums you will need about 2 days as well, depending on your preferences. For kids, the biggest playroom in eastern Europe is very interesting place to visit and spend a day. What we didn't like was a lot of dirt, ruined buildings and homeless people or addicts in the streets. The destination is for a single visit for me, with no intention to ever return.

Bucharest is a city of two faces.

Bucharest is a city of two faces. Huge communist buildings and monuments like the Parliament, old historical ones with the charm of the past, great museums, beautiful gardens and parks. On the other hand, there are a lot of neglected buildings and shops, the city itself could be much cleaner. Bucharest is striving to escape from its communist past while trying to find its place and identity within the European Union. Definitely worth a visit culture wise; plus, the LEI (RON) currency makes it a cheap destination.

I really enjoyed my stay at Moxy Bucharest Old Town. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the old town, making it easy to explore the city. The hotel's modern and stylish design, combined with its fun and energetic atmosphere, made my stay very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any requests. The room was clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed that ensured a good night's sleep. I also appreciated the lively bar area and the convenient grab-and-go snacks available 24/7.

Hotel conveniently located in the old town, on a pedestrian street - close to bars, restaurants, shops and tourist sites. Breakfast was good, normal continental fare. Receptionist was friendly and helped with suggestions to visit Bucharest's off-the-beaten track areas to visit. View from the balcony - great to see the old town building's rooftops and Parliament. However, rained the 1st day and could not step out!

The location was fantastic, as the hotel was located right in the heart of the old city. We could access many main attractions in the city centre by foot. The hotel was clean, well ventilated (which was important considering the extreme heat that had overtaken Bucharest when we were there), and the staff was very nice.

It’s a 1920’s villa, beautifully refurbished as a hotel, so the rooms are not the same, which ads to the charm. We had a junior suite on 3 levels :) Also, the location is perfect for exploring old town Bucharest
