Very good food, recomending Ivan Pescar restaurant, in the building where the accomodation is.
Highly recommend the boat trip Danube Delta. The guide knows his history and always makes a joke or two to lighten up the mood.

The city is well worth to visit.
The city is well worth to visit. The new design looks amazing. If you are a fishing lover or enjoy nature is a great destination. You can easily find trips to see Danube Delta wildlife. The prices are affordable.
Well worth it giving a try.

Favorite places: Danube Delta museum, Ivan Patinkin esplanade, one day trip to Danube Delta
There are several restaurants (mainly sea food and fishes) around but we preferred self catering.
Yes, it is easy to get around Tulcea by boat or by car.
To be avoided: week end and legal holidays.

Tulcea is my hometown, so I know a thing or two about it.
Tulcea is my hometown, so I know a thing or two about it. It generally has the same feel of many similar towns in Romania, being greatly affected by the Communist and the post-Revolution years. However, it does have some charm of its own. The Danube promenade is one of the nicest in Romania and it's slowly getting even better. The view from the "monument" (there are several in town, but only one is known as "The" monument) are quite impressive, especially at sunrise and sunset. There are several museums that will help you discover the region and - of course - Tulcea is the gateway to the Danube Delta, which is a marvel in itself, although people don't respect it as they should (but that's true about everything in Romania).
There are many places where you can go for good food, I'll name a few that I've tried: Santa Catalina, The Pub Grill House, Trident, but there are plenty of other options. Getting around is quite easy, since Tulcea is a fairly small town and taxis are cheap-ish. Local transport is a decent option. While generally safe, being careful never hurt anyone and it's probably better to avoid some of the darker streets at night.

It’s a great stepping off point for the Delta and would recommend staying here for this, as you can then travel different routes in by boat. That said, the town itself doesn’t have much else to offer for tourists, with the exception of a couple of museums and an aquarium (unfortunately closed when we visited). Some decent restaurants but nothing outstanding.

The Danube delta is the draw here.
The Danube delta is the draw here. Despite visiting in the freezing depths of winter I found an excellent guide who took me on an amazing boat trip (Safca Delta Tours, I highly recommend).
Sadly the Delta Museum was closed during my visit.
Very polite hotel staff, which supported us with all our questions (even in English language). The hotel have a big private parking space and a passenger lift. The hotel room is very big, very clean and in a good condition. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel room was very quiet. The bath room is very clean too and have a very good shower. The hotel is located in the city center of Tulcea, very close to all public offices, city authorities, the tribunal Tulcea, as well as to the tourist attractions (Danube boat tours).
First of all, the location of this apartment is perfect. It sets you up perfectly for spending time in Tulcea and is especially perfect for an exploration of the delta or the larger area. The apartment itself is very well done, clean, modern and quiet and the view over the Danube as it curves through town is amazing. Sunrises and sunsets are the best. The host is also one of the owners of Safca Delta Tours, and he picked us up right at the dock below the apartment for our custom tour (also fantastic) of the delta.
The host is super nice, helpful and accommodating. Furthermore, the place is beautiful, clean and new as it has just been renovated. The room has a good size and is equipped with everything that is stated plus it has a nice seating area with two comfy armchairs. The bathroom is spacious with a big walk-in shower. Furthermore, the other shared spaces are also quite big and very comfortable. Can only recommend this place to anyone coming to Tulcea!
The position of the hotel is great, the Ciperca lake and the park which is around the lake is very nice arranged, very clean, and well maintained. The hotel is also close to the seafront and close to the city center. The hotel staff is smiling all the time, they help you when you need it and they give you useful information about what objectives must be visited!
Room, bed, quiet, climate control, all the amenities of the room were good. Liked that they had a large parking lot in front to park our car, and liked the view of the Danube River from the room and restaurant. Breakfast buffet was also good. We thought it was a good value. Very modern, clean hotel with an elevator for our luggage!
I liked that it was clean and odorless, the room and the bathroom were spacious. The sheets and towels were clean and enough. The bed was comfortable. There was room to put your belongings and hangers in the room and in the bathroom. The location is near the city center. Hot water is available anytime. The windows had insect nets.
The Breakfast buffet is amazing. There is a coffee machine that makes espresso or macchiatto. There is a great variety of food, including eggs, meat, cereal, sweets, etc. The Rooms are clean and sufficient. The location is very walkable and close to many sites in Tulcea and is right in the City Square.
We loved the facilities, host and location.
We were pleasantly surprised to find that facilities included an outdoor kitchen and terasse, beautiful garden, coffee making, access to a fridge.
Location was great as it was few minutes walk to the port for our Delta trip. Easy parking.
The location along the river is one of the best places in the city. Rooms with river view must be great. The Restaurant has also very good views. The vrieties of the breakfast meals are more than expected. It is the best place to stay one day before taking the danube boat tour.
We only stayed one night at the Delta Hotel, but we really enjoyed the apartment, the location, the exceptional view from the balcony. The breakfast was really good, with good variety. The view from the restaurant is great.
The room was so big and so was the bathroom, with a jacuzzi! Also, the bed was very big and comfortable, we slept very well! Big like for the two!
Totally recommend a boat trip to the Danube Delta, Sulina or Letea Forest.
Great location right in front of the main docks for the Danube Delta transfer service. The rooms are big enough and comfy. Also great view and free parking during your stay. Breakfast was also good and fresh.
it's a quiet, clean and wonderful place to relax and pick up an accommodation when you arrive in Tulcea. The host is a kind person with whom you enjoy having a conversation.
Big apartment close to the pub where you can relax in the garden. Also, this is 25min walk from the river where u can book and go on the delta danube tour
