Koh Larn has many beautiful beaches, but does leave you a little dissatisfied if you are wanting to enjoy the night life. The nightlife is pretty nonexistent, at least in the area that we were located. My friend and I were hoping to be able to enjoy in a very lively, fun bar and also go out for the nightlife like a nightclub however, it was very boring and we ended up going back to our accommodation early. If we were aware this is how it would've been on the island, we would have went back to Pattaya when the last ferry left. One positive I can say about the beach is that they did have amazing beach locations that you can visit and it's really hard to be dissatisfied with them. There are also a couple food places that are pretty good close to the pier that I think were really great. My best tip would be if you were going to come to Koh Larn and wanting to have a more lively trip, I would recommend just going to Koh Larn for the day and then head back to the mainland.

The reason I decided to visit this island was that I needed sand and sea, and some relaxation, and a few beers under the palms. And all this near Bangkok. But when I saw the island I was really impressed, and all my warries concerning its location /near Pattaya/ were washed away by the warm waves. Calm and relaxed place. I'll go there again some day.

Easy to get to from central Pattaya Bali Hai Pier.
Easy to get to from central Pattaya Bali Hai Pier. 30 THB on the local ferry boat which takes 35 minutes and drops you on either Taween beach in the north or Na Baan pier in the east, which is the main town area on the island. Alternatively, you can pay 150 THB on a speed boat.
Best to have your own transport. Lots of motorbike / car hire places. Otherwises, there are local buses, and motorcycle taxis to take you around to the main beaches.
There are 7 great beaches to visit. Taween is the biggest, with the most beach activities and facilities, eating options and very busy. We did them all in 2 days. Our favourites were Samae and Tien in the west, (great sunsets), Ta Yai in the North (a hidden gem), and Nual in the south.
Great view points from the hills in the center of the island. There is a temple on the highest hill, beyond the big Budha statue, but there are around 250 steep steps to get up to it, but the view is worth it.
Not the active bar and club night life of Pattaya but very relaxed with great eating and life music in most bars. Prices a little higher than on the mainland but that's to be expected.
A great place for a day trip or overnight stay (we stayed at Xanadu beach resort, on Samae beach) to escape the hustle and bustle of Pattaya. We went back 4 times in two weeks

Some beaches have ALOT of rubbish and needs a scheme where locals and tourists are encouraged to clear up after themselves and help clear up rubbish in exchange for food or drinks or something like that. It really is that bad to the left around the rocks next to Ta Yai Beach.
Also, there shold be quiet zones for people not to be next to groups of people who are over loud which is very annoying when you want to relax and have some peace and just listen to the waves.
There should also be a clear way to get around the island by songthaew via visual infomation/ maps. For people who don't ride motorcycles.
Many cafes and restaurants' staff could be more welcoming. They seem to be miserable and not bothered about the tourists coming back to help their economy.

A trip to Pattaya is not complete without a visit to Koh Larn.
It's a wonderful island which is easy and very cheap to get there.
(The 20 minute ferry crossing costs just 30 baht and a 10 minute ride on a speedboat 150 baht). It's best to go as early as possible before the crowds build up. Be aware that some of the beaches are more crowded than others but these have more facilities.

I have been to this island many times and if you want to see all of it you should rent a motorbike and tour the island there are lots of fabulous beaches and Lookouts and the restaurants are wonderful but don't stay we're l stayed last time because you will be disappointed
The resort itself is within easy reach of the Pier (the staff will pick you up when you notify them of your arrival). It is also near the Baht carrier station which can be used to cheaply transport you to the whole island. It is is set back from the road so the location itself is very quiet ensuring a good nights sleep. There is a 7 eleven nearby and other shops for the last minute essentials e.g. beer and ice. The internet worked really well too. I would stay again which itself tells all.
A quaint little hotel with 7 rooms on the first floor, and one room on the second floor. The room said “view” but the view is opposite of the water and looks back at a hillside. However, there is a private balcony that is open to the sky, but no one can see in, a perfect place to enjoy a Nescafé Al fresco or au natural! A short walk from the Tawen Beach ferry and surrounded by great restaurants and beach bars. A great value for the price and I would go back again!
Amazingly comfortable beds.
Breakfast in the morning on the balcony was a lovely touch. Very nice to sit out on after dark.
Air con and fridge in the room with cold bottles of water meant we could keep cool.
Great location, close to the pier and the beach to the north.
Good value for money.
The staff were kind enough to keep our bags after check out time, which meant we could enjoy the island for longer.
Most friendly helpfull hosts. The owner drove me to various beaches with his vehicle without charging me. Lovely tasty breakfast. Comfy swimmingpool and nice area to have a barbeque. Alot of help by the owner. Offerred us fruit from their own home. Will definitely recommend this lovely hotel to anybody. Loved every second there and left with a tear.
In 10 years in thailand, the worst hotel. For the price , i was expecting somthing different. Have to change room 3 times !! room dirty, bad smeal, noisy, and there where event ant everywhere in the bed, , the hotel is not maintened, staff are young, not trained, no communiction, the breakfast is also a big joke. dont waste your money on that place
Its a basic, comfortable place to stay for a reasonable value.
The room is clean, amenities are basic but ok.
We were outside exploring the island and beaches so we just needed a place to sleep and for that this place is perfect.
Breakfast is basic - egg, sausage and toast with a marmelade.
Owners are very sweet, kind and caring.
The hotel is charming, exactly as the pictures. And the staff made us comfortable on the bench while we were relaxing and appreciating the sea and the Pattaya view on the horizon.
Moreover the breakfast staff was very nice as the breakfast also was.
+ There is a lovely dog protecting the property at night 🫶🏽
This hotel is absolutely perfect for staying on the beautiful island of Koh Larn. It was always very clean, the staff were so helpful and kind and the breakfast was great. It is only a couple of minutes walk to the Main Street and so easy to get around. Would recommend Samanta’s to anyone visiting the island
I am satisfied after 1 night staying here. The location is awesome, at the center, so close to the pier. The staff is nice. Room is good, clean, dark, and comfortable. The only little problem is that there might me noise coming from outside. Overall, I give 4/5 stars for this hotel. Suggested 😊
More than I expected on a small island where you don't expect the comfort of a big city hotel. That said, it was a great little hotel that looked like a family run business who couldn't have been more helpful and accomodating. Fantastic location with free beach beds. Would go back anytime
Thanks for making me feel at home! It is a hotel away from noise. with an excellent view. with very kind people. The best thing is that you can walk to the quietest beach on the island in just 10 minutes. It is a wonderful hotel to travel alone or as a couple
This location had a good breakfast, it was located close to the beach and in a quiet part of the island away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The owner was flexible working with us from confusion with the scooter rental situation.
The best sea view and Pattaya view from room, Free shelter, cheep price, free mask, free breakfast (only 1 menu, see on picture), provide motorbike rent 300bath/day, near to night market
Room was spacious and clean, staff was really helpful, scooter rent in hotel was super convenient. After the stay they can lift you up to the ferry. Absolutely amazing hotel.
One of the best hotels I have stayed at. Large well appointed room. Deck area had wonderful views. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Martin was very welcoming.
