I travel for culture, and the town, being medium sized, has lots of it. A few nice mausolea from Seljuk times, a good museum with some fine Hittite and more ancient finds. SDome old mosques. The town of Bor, say 15 minutes by bus, and the rock-cut monastery at the other side (best take a taxi on the way there, a bus back will depart every hour at the half hour) has a special atmosphere and some important fresco's. Underground town Derinkuyu can be reached from Nigde too.
