We were worried about how we would get around the island and our host was so helpful recommending a bike rental place and driving us there from the airport on our arrival at 8pm. It was a beautiful space. The Japanese bed mat was surprisingly comfortable and we had a restful night's sleep. The bathroom was up to date and clean, just a little bit tiny. The breakfast was thoughtful and delicious. The communal room in the middle was nice to work in, and the WiFi was good. There was a water machine and plenty of communal places to sit. They were responsive over messaging.

Beautiful heritage house with traditional design, plus modern amenities to keep our stay comfortable. Meticulous effort has been taken to keep the reconstruction of this house as authentic and historically accurate as possible, so it's a truly unique experience staying in this 400+ year-old house that's kept alive using olden materials and methods. Hosts were truly amazing—they gave us a historical tour of the house, shared stories, and made us feel very much at home. We even shared drinks in the evening and got to know each other. Hosts were also kind enough to help arrange for a cake to help me celebrate my grandma's birthday—they really went above and beyond in every area. The area around Guning Xiexinyuan is also beautiful, we loved taking walks by the lake in the mornings/evenings, very quiet and peaceful.
