Staying is this hotel was beautiful experience - hotel is located at the very end of beach and gives an escape from bysy Kiwengwa beach. You can relax at hotel and have some fun at the beach - best of both. Infinity pool and view from it was best feature - no other hotel in Zanzibar has view like Shooting Star. Breakfast was good, staff was very welcoming and helpful. If you want peaceful stay, beautiful views and still be close to activities and local restaurants - this is the best hotel. One additional recommendation - when staying at this hotel - have dinner/lunch at Amour restaurant nearby - you will not regret it.

We spent 12 days at the Shooting Star Lodge. Compared to other much larger hotels in Zanzibar, you feel here, at the quiet end of the beach, away from tourism, which we personally liked very much. The elevated position above the beach and the general layout of the hotel are fantastic. The garden is very well kept and also the two pools were very clean. The whole team are very friendly and accommodating and do their best. Especially George, who carries out his position as manager very well and is very helpful with concerns or questions. What was also very impressive for such a small hotel is the kitchen, which created a new menu every day during our entire stay. The food was always excellent. When you are staying there, you should also take advantage of the spa. You have the option of having massages right on the beach, which we really enjoyed. We would definitely stay there again.
