There are two distinct sections in our neighborhood. Alpine Village is along Long Branch Trail, and Alpine Mountain is along Pine Tree Rd, Skyline Rd and Mine Cove Rd. We have a steep driveway and most of the roads are gravel and not paved. All Wheel Drive or 4-Wheel Drive vehicles are recommended to make the steep incline. Front Wheel Drive vehicles are acceptable. Rear Wheel Drive(Only) Pickup Trucks are prohibited. Roads are cleared and smoothed frequently by our road maintenance. Also on our property is a small driveway leading to a shed at the end. To the right, you will see a long dirt road that leads to an abandoned cave/mine on the lower section of our property. (Please, however, enter at your own risk, as the mine is not maintained by the family). This area was once very active in mining; there were many uses for the mica/plagioclase that was found inside the mines. Visit Emerald Mines and the museum, just a few minutes away, for more fun facts about the mining industry and the many caves/mines located all around the area.
