I reviewed the locations of the Motel 6's online to where my meetings would be held (downtown Austin). I was requested a quote but the proximity of the location for the Motel 6 that I reserved was not as advertised on the website. It was much farther north and not in a good neighborhood. I changed to a Motel 6 closer to where my meetings would be held and requested the same rate that I was quoted online for the other Motel 6 just a couple of mile up the road. I was informed that I could not get the same rate. I choose Motel 6 due to the rate and the alleged proximity according to Motel 6's map of location. When the location was inadequate and the subsequent Motel 6 would not honor the rate quote, I was told that if I canceled I would still be charged for one night stay. This is totally inappropriate for someone that has more than 100 nights annually in local hotel due his business.
The front desk staff were very helpful and always had a positive attitude!
This location was found when I searched for places near the airport...it was in no way near the airport and there were at least two dozen closer. I spent twice the money I saved just in cab and uber fees.
Very comfortable bed and clean room
the location...seedy looking part of town.
I didn't Luke a single thing about this motel.
The staff were rude, put me in an incomplete room. The air sounded like a jet taking off. And it looks Luke a prison with the fence that surrounds it. 100% dissatisfied.
Heater Wasn't working. Gave new room at 1am.
Location is good. Room is good.
Night staff service needs improvement. Toilet flush issue. Shower pressure issue. No service on turn around time, nor service to fix problem.
Thank you for letting My girlfriend and I stay at you're motel! It was very nice and comfortable! And was easy to get into downtown Austin!
too many thugs hanging. felt unsafe and to many people smoking weed
Pretty close to town. Super cheap and my safety was totally worth the few bucks I saved.
Shady people around the area, but seriously, not that bad.
Price and front desk staff. I booked and paid for two rooms, one for myself and my girlfriend and one for my father. This was booked for the F1 race in Austin. The drive was about 15-20 min from the track and at over $400+tax/room for 4 nights it was the cheapest place by far.
The motel is not in the safest area of town. There is wooded area across the parking lot where shady characters would emerge every night and one night we were woken up by police on a loud speaker trying to ensure that only customers were on property. The front desk manager was over the top rude, and despite paying over $950 for the two rooms with tax, the manager Rewe(sp?) banged on our door because we were 15 min late for checkout and he screamed that he would call the police if we weren't out in 5 min! When I confronted him about this he acted as though he was being normal and said he never called the cops. This wasn't the point and after paying almost a thousand dollars for two rooms for four nights I would expect to be told we had to leave a little more politely. NO WAY I'll be staying here next year!!!
The motel was close too I35 with fairly easy access the rooms were clean but basic no comfortable chair, the mattress was OK but would have preferred a bit firmer one.
I didn't like the fact I had to pay for internet, and there was NO continental breakfast, traffic noise from I 35 was constant although it really didn't disturb my sleep,
I was put on the 2nd floor when I requested down and plenty of rooms not taken. Fuzzy tv
The gm was very helpful when r room flooded
Shower flooded and homeless and prostitutes all over the place asking for money
Night front desk clerk was great.
I didn't like when I called for an iron the following morning of my stay @7AM when I get I had to wait for the iron I called for. The reason for the call was so I wouldn't have to wait. There were customers checking in. Cool... The morning front desk person said to me" let me finish with this person." Cool... When he finished with that customer. Another customer walked back in up to the desk asked about smoking in the rooms and the clerk proceeded to give the customers the city ordinance about smoking instead of giving me the iron so I could iron my clothes and go to work. I never got that iron and I had a two day stay which I cancelled and checked out. I am a CCR. If my customer calls for a iron the iron would be waiting for that customer even though I have other customers I am helping. The clerk could have ask the young man that getting off if he could get the iron before he leaves. The clerk could have said to the customers, " could you give me a min." What was more important to him was giving the smoking ordinance.
room was clean and staff was good.
I reserved a room smoking and this room and all rooms are non smoking. the room next door had a dog that barked all night and whoever was with the dog yelled an hollered at each other all night. the facility is hard to enter.
the only dislike was the noise outside people all night outside making noise
Lack of in-room amenities: coffee machine, hair dryer, shampoo.
I like that the cleaning staff came by and asked if we needed anything.
I didn't like seeing roaches crawling on the wall. I didn't like that the non smoking room I requested smelled like I had just lit up a cigarette
The beds were comfy, and that's it. There's a 200 character minimum, so I'm just gonna write random things here. Like about the time I pet a raccoon. It was pretty cute, and it licked my hand. I expected the thing to attempt to tear me to shreds, but it didn't, which was pretty cool. I hope this is enough characters, as there is no kind of counter.
Everything. There were tons and tons of bugs all over the room, the linens I was given were nasty, there's no kind of appliances what-so-ever, the wifi was god-awful and you had to pay for it, the staff were slow and incompetent, and the neighborhood was more sketchy than anywhere I've ever stayed before.
We had to cancel our stay, We did not have to stay over night for my meeting after all.The gentleman at the front desk (Egner) was kind and very helpful.
No working Tv or Cable. No response vy staff to correct problems. No shampoo or soap.
Prostitute and drug hotel
The staff was very friendly and accommodating, despite the shortcomings of the property. It was relatively close to the place I was visiting. It was quiet and I felt the beds were comfortable. The shower was hot and the room was clean. There was a police officer stationed at the one entrance which was kept open after about 10:00 at night, (which did make me feel safer).
No shampoo or refrigerator in the room. No light bulbs in the lights between the beds and the knob to turn them on was not there and only one full size towel in the bathroom. The staff quickly rectified that situation, except for the knob on the light, but to be fair, my husband said he could turn it on/off without it. Property definitely located in a questionable neighborhood. There were announcements made periodically informing people to leave the property if they weren't staying there. Quite a lot of foot traffic through the parking lot and into a wooded area at the rear of the lot. The office had the windows broken out and caution tape crisscrossed over it. It was slightly unsettling, but the police presence was comforting, but it would have been better if it had not been so obviously needed. Overall, for the price we paid, not worth it. I have stayed at Motel 6 in the past and have always been pretty happy with it. Can't really say the same with this one, but really only because of the shady characters wandering about.
The police were called to a room two doors down. It was loud all night. Drugs were being sold. Bad experience.
