I was in Las Vegas for a conference, and had one day for walking around. Walking, combined with the monorail and the occasional Uber, really will get you everywhere fast and cheap. Be prepared to go with the (time) flow, especially if you are from a different time zone. You will wake up at night, drink a coffee, have breakfast and do a nice walk outside in the warm nights, enjoying the colorful strip and maybe take an extra nap when you return in your hotel.

Getting around was easy, whether by bus, Uber, tram or on foot. A family of six including Grandma on rented scooter. Buses and Uber were accommodating for the scooter. Walking down strip had plenty of ramps and elevators. The kids, ages 8 and 12, liked the experiences as much as the adults and want to go back. For a buffet experience we chose A.Y.C.E. at the Plaza. It was totally outstanding. We stayed at the Excalibur which was great with kids.

I enjoy the heck out of Vegas.
I enjoy the heck out of Vegas. I've said it before and I'll say it again: you don't need to gamble and/or drink to enjoy Vegas. However, Vegas when it's over 110⁰ is quite miserable. It's impossible to stay in the air conditioning 100% of the time if you want to do anything. Once it's dusk, things get better. Up until this trip, I'd say Vegas by bus was the way to go, but between construction and the hordes trying to board the Deuce bus, all the drivers are cranky, and with good reason. Talk about unruly crowds. I walked back to my hotel after waiting with a horde for about 10 minutes. I kept looking for the bus to pass, but it never did. Sadly, this is now typical. There should be more busses according to the schedule, but you're lucky if busses come every 30 minutes. Avoid the 104 line as well. I waited for over an hour for that one.
Here are a few places I've tried and liked in terms of food: Pokeman (Spring Valley - tons of yummy looking Asian food in this area), The Egg Shop, Vickie's Diner for breakfast, Spiegel's prime rib special in downtown, Original Lindo Michoacán (pipian!), Le Macaron (they're made with almond flour for your gluten free pleasure).
If you haven't been to Meow Wolf yet, go. It's such a trip! Ka and Mystere by Cirque due Soleil are both good.
Location on the Strip, you can start at Excalibur and walk to all that you want and back. Use Mobile check-in if the line at Reception is long, which it almost always is. No fridge in room, consider that. Big can if beer at hotel many kiosks is 10 dollars, on the strip even 20 so if you are a big group or drink many beers, buy from a grocery and keep in a cooler box. Room price is cheap, around 29 per night but with taxes, tourist fee and parking (18 per night) we paid for 2 nights total of 219 dollars
Grand Canyon was our main reason for visiting Las Vegas, and we wanted a decent hotel at the lowest possible price. Considering the Vegas price range, this was the best option available. The location was convenient, with a handful of restaurants and convenience shops nearby. The room was spacious, but the hotel was not unique, just another big hotel with no character.
I have Stayed at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino recently and had an amazing time! The hotel is beautifully designed with a Parisian theme, the staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and the location is perfect on the Strip. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique Las Vegas experience!
Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Loved the pool area and was definitely a great vibe! Also loved the mexican restaurant and the happy hour deals...and hard to beat the location of the Flamingo on the strip. Had In 'N' Out almost every day as it's just outside of the hotel.
Stayed her for a bachelorette party! Our favorite area was the pool, where both food and drinks were great! We even rented a cabana one day at the pool. This is my fourth time staying at the Linq and can honestly say one of the best deals in las vegas. Perfect location!
Well equipped kitchen. Good filter coffee, we requested more.
Although small we also made good use of the gym facilities.
Great location, short walk from the strip yet the cost was much cheaper than those hotels closer or on the strip. Value for money.
Best pool in Las Vegas. The rooms were extremely clean. The shower was amazing. They actually provide you with a mini fridge in your room unlike any other hotel we have stayed at on the strip. Very great experience all around at this hotel!
Once more, for me, the best hotel in Las Vegas. Quiet just outside the Strip, great rooms, great service, great food.
Make sure you have an upper level room with view on the Strip, so you can enjoy the Sphere spectacular lighting scenes!
Location, it is perfect! The hotel is located at the center of the strip, paid cheaper compared to the other nearby hotel, the location is very accessible to most of Las Vegas attractions and dining area
My stay at the Mardi gras hotel was very pleasant from start to finish. Located a mile from the strip. And half a mile from the Las Vegas convention center. Was definitely best bang for your buck.
The room was ample and the beds were comfortable. That said everything is very dated.
This hotel still offers free self parking, which is not common in other hotels on the Strip in Las Vegas.
Very cheap stay - probably the cheapest hotel on the strip. Room was clean. It was a cheap stay on the strip and good enough just to sleep at night - we weren't in the hotel that much anyways.
For me the best option in Las Vegas. Huge room with kitchen, large bathroom and living room.
Free parking and pool and Jacuzzi.
If I come back in LV I will for sure stay again in this hotels
Great location and since I booked early two nights midweek it was very cheap, both nights for less than it would have cost one night at most hotels on the strip.
OMG everything was amazing. I've always wanted to stay downtown Las Vegas but I usually stay on the strip. This hotel was amazing I will definitely be back.
