Not enough choice at breakfast
Good sized room and comfy bed. Reasonably quiet.
Had to move rooms after the first night, as the air unit was noisy and the room cold. This was done quickly and efficiently with little fuss. second room was fine.
Reminded me of the many smaller hotels I have stayed in while traveling in Europe. A nice intimate feeling.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable with excellent amenities.
Excellent location in Brooklyn. Was convenient to get in and out of the city. The beds were extremely comfortable and I would plan to stay here again.
The noise from the street was horrible throughout the night. The hotel is directly across from a detention center so sirens were constantly heard.
This is a no-frills, uncomplicated hotel; excellent simplicity! Staff is very helpful and happy to accommodate requests.
Free breakfast! Friendly staff, cozy rooms with well designed touches. Great location in Brooklyn, and really affordable considering the area. Would definitely stay again.
The NU is located in an adorable and active part of Brooklyn. We were less than 20 minutes from the Promenade and other Brooklyn tourist sites. There were ample restaurants and bars as well as museums and amenities to keep us entertained. This was really great!
Little off putting to walk out onto the street Monday morning to see a police corrections vehicle parked out front, but being in downtown Brooklyn what can you do but other than that it was a great stay.
Clean and simple
Minor wish....love a magnifying mirror in bathrooms! Towels could be a little better quality.
The bed was so comfortable. The artwork is fabulous. The staff was welcoming and efficient. The bathrooms are gorgeous.
Facility was very clean. Lighting was not conducive for two reading in bed. Shower curtain fell down. The lobby was crowded and appeared to be used to conduct business rather than as a breakfast venue for guests.
The staff was attentive, hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet
Fun boutique hotel with friendly, knowledgeable staff close to great Brooklyn neighborhoods and easy access to Manhatten. This was our first time staying in Brooklyn and we would definitely stay at NU Hotel again when visiting NYC. Cute trendy lobby doubles as bar and breakfast buffet. Good bagels!
I found the room a bit drafty and chilly when the fan was running. With the fan off, the room became stuffy. I asked for a blanket and was given a thin coverlet, barely more than a sheet. This is my only complaint - the staff was friendly and helpful.
Comfortable beds, spacious bathroom, classy toiletries, friendly staff, fast free wifi and the continental breakfast included in the room rate was an added bonus. Rooms at back are quiet. Short walk to subway into Manhattan. Interesting shops nearby.
Lighting could be brighter in the bedroom. Aircon/ heating system was noisy and kept us awake on the first night, but staff turned it off and gave us a space heater instead which was fine. Breakfast area is small and gets crowded. A bit disconcerting at first to find that hotel is situated opposite a prison (!) but the area seems very safe.
The hotel facilities, the helpful staff.
Booking.com failed to inform the hotel that we needed 2 rooms with double beds each. The hotal only had one such room available. We finally were given three rooms. Unfortunately, we were then doiuble charged, which I only learned from my credit card bill. I am still trying to resolve the issue.
Suitable location for our visit
Extremely high price for NY ... Could have stayed in a 5 star in Manhattan for less. Upmarket Motel, with crowded lobby where breakfast was laid out. A bun fight !,! Not very pleasant. NO PUBLIC ROOMS !
Loved the room, the breakfast, the friendly helpful staff. Didn't have a pet with me but loved the idea I could have brought one. Almost everything was perfect.
On the middle night of my stay, I returned to the room at 11pm and found the room had not been serviced. Big surprise! Rang housekeeping but did not accept late service as just wanted to crawl into bed and sleep. What a shame as everything else was just so good.
Service and convenience
location is wonderful, rooms are spacious by New York standards and very clean
Free wi-fi - most hotels charge exorbitant fees for this cheap service. This should be a free service, as with Nu Hotel, well done! Also breakfast, coffee / tea and L'Occitane toiletries included.
All in all, a good hotel with good service and friendly staff.
Large modern bright rooms
The staff was very helpful. The bed and room was very clean and the bed was excellent for a good nights. sleep. Breakfast was good and easy to get but short on table space to set down and eat. Location was in a great spot and easy to get around . Many neat places in walking district. I would stay there again.
As an older adult the low bed and the safe caused problems for me. Getting out of bed or down to the safe was a chore alond with getting back up do to my artificial Knee. I wish there were 2 chairs in the room so when we both were in there we could both set down instead of one of us setting on the bed.
The minimalist style of the room, very efficient but comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming
The free continental breakfast is held in the small lobby and is pretty chaotic -- hard to find a place to sit
easy access from subway to centre of New York. Good restaurants nearby. Comfortable room. Good tea/coffee machine
Struggled to find a seat at breakfast as it was so busy
Beds were comfortable, the shower ample, the mini bar well stocked! Staff was very nice. Family suite rooms were great for little kids. lobby had friendly atmosphere, and the parking was very convenient. Front desk called a car service for us so we didn't have to struggle to get cabs at rush hour.
The lighting in rooms was dim ...there was not enough of it. the sink area was crowded for two. and the low beds were difficult for older people (over 70) to negotiate.
