The loaction of the hotel that is very close to Grand central Terminal. The bed rooms are to a good standard with views of newyork
During my visit in October 2014, the Restaurant was being refurbished and as such no bar / or food availible other than breakfast
The location. The door men and the bell man were much more pleasant and helpful compared to the ladies at the reception.
No free internet available in the rooms. The free guest Wi Fi in the lobby was not satisfactory. The connection was too poor.
The location is good.
But the room is very small no compliantry at all, only you get bed to sleep.
Courteous staff, very nice accommodations, excellent location.
Expense for in room Wi-Fi service
it is a Hilton, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, that it was close to grand central station, many eateries nearby, room size, bed, and facilities (desk, coffee machine, I got a fridge installed), classy room interior, cleanliness, realtive quietness for New York
weak signal either by cable or by WIFI in the room of the meanwhile at least in my case complementary Internet, which worked perfectly well in the lobby only (according to the front desk to be addressed in the near future). In one of the two rooms, I had during my two stays a low ventilator noise was permantently hearable (from outside?) even with switched off airco.
The room assigned was near some AC vent making a continuous terrible noise day and night. We asked to be changed to a different room but all we had was a maintenance person come to lock the bathroom window and tell is the noise would stop at 10:30 pm, which it did not.
The fact that the manager Roberto was helpful and helped to make our stay better than what was first presented to us...also the Location was excellent!
The room was nothing like the pictures..not only that shower fixture was broken as well as the plug the closed the drain off was broken and pulled all the way up from the floor..I called engineering dept and the guy cleaned the bath tub drain in the toilet..can u say disgusting. .smh.. many other things happened that were unbelievable ..smh couldnt believe that this was a Hilton hotel..we always stay at the Hilton. .major disappointment
Internet and Breakfast expensive
Staff are the biggest asset of this hotel - the most professional, thoughtful and accommodating I've met as a business traveler.
Safe neighbourhood, very quiet.
Even with the discount you get with Booking.com, it's still over-priced and falls well short of the quality and standards of Hilton and other 4* hotels. Rooms at the side or back are dark and musky. Don't expect any help if you have large amounts of luggage. This whole paying for wifi thing, get over it, if your dropping large amounts of money on a hotel stay you don't want to be stung by wifi charges that are totally NOT necessary.
Very expensive WiFi Very poor quality towels Cluttered room
Very small rooms. No free internet available in the rooms. This is a standard even in lower quality hotels
The hotel was located in a very good location. It is near the subway and lots of good eatery nearby. I was surprised by the room size - I expected it to be smaller, but it was a good size and was comfortable. Very quiet room.
Free wifi should be available in the room instead of just the lobby. We did not have housekeeping services for 2 days during our stay.
They charged more than the billed amount thru credit card.this is not fair. Getting back this amounts takes time. Till then my credit limit is blocked
Great hotel with very helpful and flexible staff. Location is perfect. Great value for money if you book on time.
Rooms were clean and well taken care of. Great location for my purposes.
Paolo in the restaurant was very courteous and kind
the rate should include a simple breakfast
Hilton Manhattan East is at an excellent location and has all old charm and beauty but is clean and well maintained. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and quiet! The staff was incredible! Cynthia surprised us with champagne and fruit as my husband was celebrating graduating with his Doctorate and it was our first time in NYC. While you might pay a little more to be right in the city I am completely happy with the value. It was the best deal I could find at the time yet I would've picked it and paid more if I knew then how nice it would be!
Outdated taps. Door lock breaking
Location is close to some main attractions and the room I was given was quiet as requested.
Paid internet - surely Hilton must wise-up to the fact that all their major competitors have complementary wifi as standard?! Concierge seemed fairly disinterested at times.
Washroom taps and door lock
Location was the best thing of this hotel. good quality of shampoo, conditioner and body lotion iron is in the room
too cold in the room, poor facilities Wi-fi in the room costs about 15 $ per hour Wi-fi in a lobby doesn't work properly with apple products No mini-bar, slippers, bathrobe, cosmetic kit in the room Made was not attentive (took glasses away to wash and didn't return, forgot several times to bring tea) They charged me wrong amount of breakfast cost, what I found out too late. So, I was disappointed, because expected more from Hilton. May be in vain.
walking distance to UN and Empire State Building, short taxi ride to Times Square, or even walk is possible. Pub opposite the building is very good - food ok, music top. Short Taxi ride to Penn Station.
bit noisy - but it's Manhattan Breakfast isn't brilliant but ok
The staff at the front desk were good,
Concierge was not aware that the front could give you change. They did. Also on Saturday I asked the concierge where the fitness center was and she did not specify which set of elevators I needed to use, so I ended up in the wrong tower. I.e. they need to be more descriptive
