I cannot say enough good things about this location. The land owners noticed when I drove up to the cabana, and drove to meet me. They explained key points of using the property. They made 2 electric bikes available to me for driving back and forth from the cabana in Ipora, and the main city of Tacuarembo, Uruguay. Furthermore, the owner would visit with me from time to time to see how I was doing and if I needed anything. He suggested places to visit and fish and sight-see, and was a real gentleman. He knew some English, but it was unnecessary because I speak Spanish. The cabana was very-nicely appointed with full kitchen, shower-only bathroom, 2 bedrooms with comfy beds, air conditioning in the bedrooms, clean linen and blankets, nice living room with a Smart TV with Chrome-cast, nice couch, all windows open to let the breeze through but with screens to keep out the bugs. This vacation experience afforded me a mental reboot. I couldn't help but be there in Ipora with all its tranquility and calm, and reflect on my very busy life. I left there with a determination to slow down and enjoy my life. I truly do attribute my reboot to the vacation experience at Balneario Ipora, Uruguay. Living in the campo, or countryside, and comparing it to the large nearby city of Tacuarembo, I couldn't help but see how difficult it is for the Uruguayos to live in and make-do with their environs and economic issues. It humbled me and made me appreciate my life, and grow to love them again - this was my second visit to the same locale. They are a gentle people, quick to be kind and help, patient when driving or riding on the streets, ... . I gladly welcomed my mental reboot. I cannot recommend this location any higher. I will return.

The city adjoining Balneario Ipora is the city of Tacuarembo...

The city adjoining Balneario Ipora is the city of Tacuarembo, Uruguay. It has grown much over the years and many of the maintained dirt roads in neighborhoods have been paved. The city is maintained and kept clean. Reliable electricity, potable water, and all the same foods available in the USA. There are many people and cars and motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles, and buses in the city, but this is just like every other city. There really is nothing strange that would make Tacuarembo unlikable. The city is a mix of old buildings and new. There are restaurants, cafes, plazas, broadband internet, electronic stores if needed. Oh, and the beef there is the best tasting I've had since the last time I was there many years ago. Definitely world-reknown as is Japanese beef.

This is a unique property - peaceful, feels remote though close to Tacuarembo (a lovely town) and a good, comfortable place to drop out. We loved it and used the barbecue each night with its visiting hummingbird. Good birdwatching from the outdoor terrace.
