The Golf Tavern has a shared lounge, restaurant, a bar and water sports facilities in Haddington. Located around 31 km from Edinburgh Playhouse, the inn with free WiFi is also 31 km away from Royal Mile. The property is non-smoking and is situated 14 km from Muirfield.

John, the owner, and the rest of his staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs during our stay. We landed at The Golf Tavern after a long journey from the states, and it was the perfect place to get settled before our 3 week trip around Scotland. Close to Edinburgh without paying Edinburgh prices. Experience the local culture in the pub at night with a pool table and darts. John even let us use his PC for a few minutes to accomplish a work task. We asked him if it was hard to run an inn, and he said no, "you just look after people" in his charming Scottish accent. 11/10 would recommend :)

The room was excellent - a large, comfortable bed; plenty of space for unpacking a suitcase; a huge bathroom containing both shower and bath (and hot water); and the largest wardrobe/shelf space I've ever seen in a guest house. Breakfast was excellent; the menu for the evening meal was limited but the food was good. All the staff were really friendly and helpful.

We stayed in the self-catered cottage which was very clean and spacious with lovely bathrooms. Power showers and large baths made it feel luxurious, with clean towels and bathroom essentials. The heating worked well so the place was very cosy. Dinner and drinks at the pub were really good, great menu and delicious home-cooked food. Really cosy, lovely old pub with an open fire and it was dog friendly.
