Everyone was very friendly and helpful, our room was comfortable and cute, meals were excellent, beer garden full of flowers was a lovely place to while away a sunny afternoon. Everyone made us feel at home. Very convenient for exploring Wells, Cheddar Gorge.

Set in a stunning location on Wells Cathedral Green, facing the West Front, The Ancient Gatehouse & Rugantino Restaurant is well positioned for discovering Somerset's historic beauty spots. Our room was in the attic of this very old building by the Wells Cathedral. We really liked that.

We had the junior suite Crimson King which was spacious, immaculate and peaceful and well worth the money. My husband is fussy about his breakfast, but said that during all of our travels this Inn’s breakfast was superb. Thank you so much, we will return.

The location is fantastic - Wells is small so as long as you’re in the town centre any location would be good. The building is old and quirky which means the rooms are full of character. They are also spacious and comfortable.
