Lovely and peaceful place. Amazing views. The weather was perfect, all the staff were so kind during our stay and the food was spectacular. I definitely recommend it. Very accesible from San José city.

With mountain views, Hortensias Chalets Vara blanca is set in Heredia and has a restaurant, room service, bar, garden, terrace and children's playground. Great location. Very nice rooms. Dinner was fantastic with my favorite Chilean wine (Laura Hartwig). Also breakfast was very good.

The lodge is beautiful, set in the hills next to a rain forest. My room reminded me of log cabin but with a modern bath room. I loved sitting on my balcony with the beautiful landscaping of trees & flower plants. I would awake to see the sheep grazing on the hills. You can walk into a little forest to a running creek, very cool. All of the staff are wonderful, and the owner Ruben is great & very helpful letting me know all of the things to do in the area. And the breakfast & dinners are very good, they have an awesome chef. I will definitely be back to stay here again!!

This lodge is set in the Tirimbina Nature Reserve and 2 km from De la Virgen Park. It features free Wi-Fi, an extensive garden and a furnished terrace. Amazing! Very cosy place, exceeded our expectations (after reading some sceptical reviews)! It is a very comfortable, tranquile, lots of nature around you, wonderful people, working at it. We also liked the tours and the restaurant (and very kindhearted ladies in it :) p.s. try to "use" the time before and after the tourists "from outside the gate" come (evening and morning, before 9-10 a.m.). It is not becoming too crowdy, but before this you have a feeling of being "nearly alone in a beautiful nature". After this you can enjoy a wonderful terrace, where we saw many nice birds and beautiful frogs.

With garden views, Chilamate Rainforest Eco Retreat is situated in Puerto Viejo and has a restaurant, a shared kitchen, bar, garden and terrace. It was stunning. The rooms were more like apartments. The staff were wonderful. Dinner and breakfast were delicious.
