We were greeted by the alpacas upon arrival and Amir was an amazing host! he even provided us with firewood to make a gorgeous fire at night. He was very responsive to our messages as well - a lovely host who gave us so many local tips and tricks. We will be coming back again! Highly recommend this unique spot, perfect for couples!

Set in tranquil surroundings with large landscaped grounds and a picturesque garden terrace with mountain views, Tongariro Crossing Lodge offers uniquely spacious rooms with historic character. Staff were super friendly and upgraded us to a bigger room, helped us to get the shuttle organized and lots of other things. highly recommended

Would definitely come back. Helen and Steven are wonderful hosts and offered us foods for breakfast - very thoughtful. Various points of interest - the sculptures and night lighting in the gardens, alpacas and family dogs, the veggie garden which Helen offered some food from . Thank you

The view was amazing and it was very peaceful. Also, the cleanliness was outstanding. Warren was a very kind, attentive host who gave us plenty of tips about things to see and places to go.
