I booked a stay for my parents birthday and they went with my sister and her fiance. The owner, Lucy, was very helpful before their arrival and happy for me to send some gifts to her before their arrival. Very good at communicating to ensure they had a great stay. My family also wrote this: We had an amazing time at The Stables. The property is beautiful and has everything you could ask for, from tea and coffee to a cosy hot tub which was perfectly heated prior to our arrival. The host was more than helpful with arranging a surprise for my mams 70th birthday, and also adding a lovely bottle of red wine! She offered any help needed but was not imposing during our visit. We would definitely go back, but maybe next time in the summer to make good use of the tennis courts and beautiful grounds. Plenty of games go play in the evening and Netflix available play on the TV.

We wanted a quiet comfortable stay within a short distance from the centre of York. The keys were easily accessible and the host met us on arrival. The grounds were stunning and the room was comfortable and clean with all the facilities we needed. It was lovely and quiet and I would certainly recommend the Vavasour to friends and family looking for the same experience.

Quaint cottage in a lovely village setting. 3 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Updated kitchen, dining room and living room. Comfortable and nicely decorated. Our hostess left many nice touches for us including chocolates and mulled wine, and replied quickly with advice. Lord Nelson pub across the street with other pubs nearby. Great cottage to come back to after exploring Yorkshire and York. Very easy to get into York by bus or nearby land and ride.
