Wisteria Way is a recently renovated guest house in Opononi, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. Very pretty aesthetic of the place. I felt like I was in a cottage core style magazine. Everything was clean, the little flower garden in between the rooms/kitchen/bathroom is absolutely lovely, there is wifi, there is a TV, books to enjoy, a very nice kitchen, the bathrooms were the kind you enjoy having a shower in. There was noone else staying the night we went so it was very very nice but it would have been lovely anyway. There is also a very cute friendly cat called Taco, which was just the cherry on top. One of my favourite stays in NZ so far.

Location, presentation, cleanliness. It exceeded all expectations and wished we'd had the time to stay longer.

This is a lovely period house that has been reolcated up onto the hill, the views are stunning. The meals we had were all great, simple wholesome food but prepeared well and served in a lovely dining room. lovely quiet spot and we enjoyed ending the day with a relaxing sit on the veranda and a good book.

ONEPU MOANA RETREAT Holiday Home is located in Opononi and offers a terrace. With ocean views, this accommodation provides a patio. A stunning place to stay for an extended family who travelled from Taranaki Gisborne and Auckland to attend a marae opening.

Marriner's Boutique Guesthouses in Rawene offers bungalows with free parking and free WiFi. Full in-room dinner service is available by arrangement. We stayed one night in the larger bungalow with sea views, and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Robyn has been so welcoming, lovely and attentive, we immediately felt like home. The bungalow was spacious, exceptionally well-maintained and meticulously clean. We ordered a "room service", a home cooked meal made by Robyn herself, for dinner (including homemade ice cream that was beyond delicious!), and loved every bite of it. Strongly recommend staying here - there's loads to do in the area, and Robyn is the perfect hostess. Thanks for having us!

Waiotemarama Falls Lodge is a holiday home located in Opononi, 47 km from Kaitaia. Guests benefit from balcony and a sun terrace. Free private parking is available on site. Absolutely stunning location, awesome views all around thanks to huge windows in every direction plus a 270° wrap-aroung-porch. This "humble abode" is luxuriously spacious and the whole place got very good vibes. The infos prepared by Candace, our hostess included not only things to do and the weather but also tide-times, stars visible during our stay and sunrise / sunset. I would definitely stay there again, but would try to stay longer, which I recommend to everyone. Three days is the minimum... The pantry and fridge were so well stocked that we didn't need to go grocery shopping. Did I mention the washing machine (lots of washing powder provided too) and the dryer?

Just 20 metres from Opononi Beach, Opononi Lighthouse Motel offers a hot tub, BBQ and free WiFi. All accommodation features a living area with a TV. Rooms had everything we needed and very comfortable. Beach is accessible across the road with some spectacular views across the bay. Small grocery store, cafe, bar within walking distance. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again when passing through the area.

Situated in Opononi, 1.8 km from Opononi Beach, Hokianga Haven features a restaurant and sea views. This beachfront property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. We stayed on the basis of self catering. What we loved about the property was that it exceeded our expectations. The position is wonderful with immediate access to the beach. Whilst there are very few facilities for us in this location (it didn’t matter as that’s why we chose to stay there) there was a hotel where we ate it and the two nights we were there and that was extremely good. There was a local shop where we go to get supplies. On a five week trip to New Zealand, this was one of the highlights!
