Hot Spring Inn Hakone Suisen offers a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 4.2 km of Hakone-Yumoto Station and 3.6 km of Kowakudani Station. The staff at Hakone Suisen are so kind and made me feel so welcome! They are foreigner (Eng. lang) friendly, and will guide you about the facilities as well. The ryokan is an easy 5-6 minute walk from the Ohiradai train station. The room I had was extremely clean as well. My room had a private onsen, which was very clean as well. Since this ryokan does not provide dining services, you will need to bring your own food with you (either packaged or ingredients to cook). If you opt to cook, you will need to reserve time in the kitchen to do so. As a solo traveler, Hakone Suisen was amazing as my first time staying at a ryokan. When I booked I let them know it would be my birthday the day of my arrival, and they provided me free celebratory champagne and a birthday card with a photo! It really made my birthday even more special. I will definitely book with them again the next time I visit Hakone.

Offering a terrace and river view, Children's cafe B&B Kimie is located in Kamakura, 2.8 km from Yuigahama Beach and less than 1 km from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. The hostess was amazing! She spoke conversational English and was always so sweet and kind. Some of the profits from the BnB go towards helping children with food insecurities. She makes a delicious homemade and traditional Japanese breakfast. The view from her backyard is breathtaking. There are two rooms that face towards the stream, one is a bunk bed and the other a double bed. Make sure to get those rooms if you want a peaceful view.

Well set in the centre of Yokohama, InterContinental Yokohama Pier 8, an IHG Hotel provides air-conditioned rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a terrace. I felt pampered and at home. Quiet, great location, and few was amazing.

Absolutely everything. Even before the stay, the staff was polite and very helpful with everything, even a last minute change in the number of the group. They wait for you at the entrance, they send you off when you go. The service was impeccable and the food - nothing short of an amazing experience.

Boasting a hot tub, Hakone Miyanoshita Myojokan is set in Hakone. The 3-star ryokan features mountain views and is 6.2 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. It was located in a quiet and peaceful area. The room was very clean, and spacious. The onsen, though small, was comfortable and lovely. The hotel manager really helped by recommending an itinerary and provided us with a lot of useful information. He was also a lovely man to have a chat with. Very kind and considerate.

Situated in Hakone, 8.7 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, Suiun provides accommodation with a sauna, a hot spring bath and a public bath. This hotel was even better than we imagined. It had so much soul and great atmosphere. Tatami everywhere was amazing! The staff was also super helpfull and nice they even did customised breakfast for us since we do not eat Dashi. We would be back thank you so much.

Situated within 600 metres of Yuigahama Beach and 1.2 km of Zaimokuza Beach, CASA Kamakura Espresso&BED features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Kamakura. We had a great stay at Casa Kamakura, which is located close to the beach. Yuka-San and Suu-San are exceptional hosts. The house is decorated with a lot of love for details and many cool things to see. We will definitely stay here again if we are back to Japan.
