The staff at Hakone Suisen are so kind and made me feel so welcome! They are foreigner (Eng. lang) friendly, and will guide you about the facilities as well. The ryokan is an easy 5-6 minute walk from the Ohiradai train station. The room I had was extremely clean as well. My room had a private onsen, which was very clean as well. Since this ryokan does not provide dining services, you will need to bring your own food with you (either packaged or ingredients to cook). If you opt to cook, you will need to reserve time in the kitchen to do so. As a solo traveler, Hakone Suisen was amazing as my first time staying at a ryokan. When I booked I let them know it would be my birthday the day of my arrival, and they provided me free celebratory champagne and a birthday card with a photo! It really made my birthday even more special. I will definitely book with them again the next time I visit Hakone.

It felt like staying with family. Upon arrival Kimie greeted us kindly, she showed us the facilities (very well equipped and clean). During our stay in our room she provided us a hot water bag to make the bed more comfortable. The daily breakfast was also complete, delicious and nutritious. Kimie is a very kind and fun person, she invited us to social activities when the opportunity arose and we had a lot of fun. The house is a bit far from the train station but can easily be reached via bus from the station. It is located near the beautiful bamboo forest and there is also a convenience store nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it. We felt at home and Kimie’s hospitality was superb.

Hakone Miyanoshita Myojokan erbjuder rum i Hakone nära Kowakudani station och Skulpturparken Hakone. The host went above and beyond in every way. From giving me directions on the route I should take to explore, to recommending restaurants, and advising on alternative modes of transportation. Additionally, the place is immaculately clean and the bath was lovely. I would highly recommend for any traveler.

Suiun ligger i Hakone, 8,7 km från Hakone-Yumoto station, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, gratis privat parkering och en gemensam lounge. Very clean, very good rooms, very nice open air bath. Staff upgraded us from two bedroom to four bedroom for free. Didn’t try breakfast or dinner. Private outdoor baths are available for reservation and would highly recommend doing so, although they don’t contain showers.
