I was motorcycling the Route des Grandes Alpes with a friend. This hotel was at a convenient location after descending the col de Izoard at the end of our first full day. The temperature outside was 34c. The hotel provided exactly the kind of break we needed after quite a demanding day. After food and refreshment, a good nights sleep and a superb breakfast we felt well prepared for our next day's riding. I'd recommend this stop to anyone else doing the same trip!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
I went to Termignon on recommendation of a hiking guidebook.
I went to Termignon on recommendation of a hiking guidebook. It's a very good base for exploring the Maurienne valley as it's roughly situated at the midpoint. Lanslebourg (up the valley), and Aussois & Modane (down the valley) have more amenities than Termignon, but it has the essentials. Moreover, it's easy to get to the others by bus or car. There are numerous trails to hike or mountain bike. There are also several via ferratas in the valley, from easy (F) to extremely difficult (ED), many concentrated at Fort Victor Emmanuel. Besides the valley itself, there's also the Vanoise National Park and Lac Mont Cenis that are well worth exploring. If you're up for a challenge there's the Tour of the Vanoise Glaciers - the mountain huts (refuges) are excellent but you need to book in advance as they are very popular.Guest review byJonathanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The Maurienne valley is absolutely stunning, once you get past the "industrial" bit, with a scattering of lesser known ski resorts (to brits). Spectacular views and access to some remarkable ski tours make this a great area to visit. A car is a definite bonus, though there are regular buses to other areas. We only ate at the Vieille Poste - 3 times, no need to go elsewhere! Most of Lanslebourg has avoided the architectural ugliness of many other ski resorts, and some bits are genuinely lovely.Guest review byPERRYUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I liked the tranquility of the place and the access to other stations in the Val Cenis area. However you need a car as there no effective shuttle service. I was touched by the Pleureuse memorial to the First War dead.Guest review byRupertUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Location was great and everything is on site that we needed.
Location was great and everything is on site that we needed. Very close to ski lift/ski school. Apartment was comfortable and appreciate all the small touches. Ski locker on the ground floor, a massive bonus. One toilet for 6 adults is not really enough but we managed. We had 2 showers at least. Disappointed that the spa facilities were closed as that was a big reason for booking but we did get told in advance that they wouldn’t be open. Pool was too cold, only went in once.Guest review byFrancescaUnited Kingdom
