Located at the Paul Kruger Gate to the Kruger National Park, Kruger Gate Hotel is located on the banks of the Sabie River. The location which was right on the Sabie River and at the Paul Kruger gate. Very practical to start the safari at 5am. The room was incredibly beautiful and comfortable. Extremely clean as well. The lounge, lobby, restaurant, beautifully decorated, warm and cosy. Breakfast and Dinner were delicious. Good variety of salads, soup, meat, desserts. Friendly staff. Impeccable arrangements for packed breakfast when going on the safari. The hotel (Mrs. Sarah Watson) made arrangements to pick us up from our Hotel in Joburg. Ruphas our driver from Muzi Safari Tour was the best driver ever. The 7 hour drive felt like a vacation in itself and a guided tour. We requested to have the same driver for our trip back to Joburg airport. Felt very safe and in good hands.

Clean beautiful house, delicious food. Very friendly host and staff, who tried to create a warm, homely atmosphere. The place is located in a natural park and is very good for wildlife lovers. We walked around the park and saw a lot of pumbs, antelopes and giraffes, which we even managed to get quite close to. It was a very amazing adventure!

We chose The Outpost Lodge for an impromptu 30th anniversary getaway. We have always wanted to visit the northernmost part of the Kruger to see how it compares to the rest of the park. The Outpost is situated on a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River and the view from our room was breath-taking. The contemporary open plan rooms have retractable remote-controlled blinds, that offer uninterrupted views of the river when open. It was indeed a once-in-a-lifetime experience to sleep with no walls between you and the wilderness. On the second night, we were treated to elephants trumpeting just outside our room! The lodge is situated in a private concession. The staff mainly consists of members of the Makuleke tribe. We were treated like royalty and no effort was spared to make our stay a memorable one. It is evident that the staff are extremely well trained, but also that they love what they do. Our room was immaculately clean, the food was 5-star and wherever we went, we were greeted with friendly smiles. The fauna, flora and vistas in this part of the Kruger is by far the most impressive of the whole park. We were fortunate enough to visit both the Lanner Gorge and the Fever Forest on game drives. This is not the area of the Kruger you should go to if you want to see the big five, as you probably won’t, but that said, there is still a decent amount of wildlife to see. We saw elephant, zebra, nyala, impala, baboons, kudu and hippo.

The property is very unique from the decor to the staff to the animals. Kruger Gate Hotel is the best hotel to stay at when visiting Kruger National Park. It is close to the entrance of the park and you get an added plus of seeing wild life in their habitat just from your room. The food was excellent. I would highly recommend eating at the resort because there is not much around the hotel. The facilities were clean the staff was very attentive to our needs. Definitely top tear in customer service. hospitality, cleanliness, and accommodating.

This is an awesome location from which to explore Kruger national Park. It is just 10 minutes drive from Malelane Gate, which is less crowded than some. The amazing thing is you practically don't need to leave the hotel because the park is right across the river. From the deck of the hotel we saw a rhino grazing right on the shore, elephants, 3 sets of mother with baby hippos, (who've made this spot their little nursery), monkeys, impala, waterbuck, and numerous types of birds.

The chalet was extremely spacious and well equipped with all rooms containing much needed AC. We had everything we needed including a private pool which was a nice bonus. A maid also came daily to clean which was a nice touch as well. The grounds were well maintained and we enjoyed walks around the golf course. Since we always got up early we barely saw everything in the daylight, but nonetheless the accommodation was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and provided us with breakfast bags for our safaris since we got up in the night. There is also a restaurant on site to have dinner.
