I know shower caps could be requested at the reception, but when you only realise that after undressing, calling the reception is out of question. It is more convenient when these things are readily available in the room.

The staff is amazing. They make you feel welcome and ensure all is well from the second you enter the building throught your entire stay. So many nice touches here and there that make this a great place. I warmly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

The hotel is beautifully designed with each room having its own personality, and interesting art throughout. The breakfast and afternoon tea were delicious and are served in a lovely room. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location was excellent.

I can find no fault whatsoever

The hotel is exceptionally good and we would have not hesitation in recommending it to anyone. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. The breakfast was beautifully presented and of top quality. The staff could not have been more helfpul and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Altstadt. It was exceptionally good.

I have to say that was a 6-star experience when it comes to the personnel and the super warm welcome we received! I definitely recommend the place also during the colder months as they have a wonderful fireplace with a great selection of drinks at the bar, which makes it a great meeting spot or a perfect place to relax and read a book!

Great sized room. We booked a Family Suite for 4 people and we had 2 separate bedrooms and a huge living room with a working electric piano!! Loved the cool design, art decorating the rooms and the common spaces. Breakfast was incredible as was the free afternoon tea provided. Great location, several public transport options close by and walking distance to Museum Quarter. Service from the staff was excellent. Would recommend 100%

A little far to get to attractions. Also, the entryway and the lift were not up to the same high standards as the hotel and gave me a fright on arrival.

Loved the room, the breakfast and the communal rooms which were so comfy. The modern art imposed on the old architecture was a nice touch. Lots of good and varied restaurants around. Also supermarkets.

We had two rooms. One of them had bath in the sleeping area and no privacy curtains in the shower. That would be super cool for a romantic stay in a couple. Until we were with kids this was bit of discomfort. But this is a very minor thing to mention.

The cultural and visual atmosphere of the whole hotel, from the front door, through the corridors, till the lobby, the lounge and the bedroom. Everything was so perfect. The breakfast and the meals were amazing. The staff so nice and welcoming. Longing to be there again!

I will start by saying that this was not my first stay at the hotel so clearly I have previously had a great experience. this hotel is comfortable enough to be like home but special enough to feel like its a real treat to be so well looked after during your stay. I stayed for a week and after some very busy days I didn't always feel like going out to dinner so I ate in the Salon. Do it! I guarantee that you won't feel as though you have missed out on dinning out. Delicious!

The walls to the suite next door where a bit too thin; we could hear our neighbours until late during the night or the elevator going up and down, also noise from the street (ambulances, police cars, church bells, ...) was audible. The water in the shower took an eternity to get warm and then got luke warm. It was not possible to connect mobile devices to the tv screen (USB and Bluetooth where disabled) and the reception said it simply was not possible to connect devices to the screen. This was a big dissapointment specially for our teenager.

The breakfast was very good with ecological and regional products; the bread was fresh and tasty. The tea time with cake was also nice. The Saskia Suite had plenty of space for 3 person and was nicely decorated. The whole hotel has a casual/modern art gallery character. The beds were very comfortable and it was a nice detail to find always fresh apples in our coffee table. I got a nice card and a chocolate from the staff on my birthday. The Salon is also quite cozy, specially in the evening when you can sit to read and have a cocktail listening to soft jazz music. Distance to the museum quartier was excellent!

Our beautiful suite was on the second floor, there was a little bit of noise from the streets (traffic), but with ear plugs no problem.
