Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNot much not to like. The room was comfortable however the toilet and shower were separate and the space for the toilet was very small with both having a bit of difficulty closing the door when we needed to use it.
All the team at the Donauwalzer were brilliant, friendly courteous and always ready to help. We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, as we spent the majority of our time in the city however all the interactions we had with the team were extremely positive. We noticed that on Sunday morning at breakfast a live music was being played with a violinist and a pianist in attendance. While we didn't actually stay for breakfast we both thought this was such a sweet and lovely Idea.

NetherlandsMaybe more power outlets in the room just with all the electronic charging that had to be done, phone, external battery, laptop. Had to alternate charging between a few electronics. Sometimes it could get a bit loud from the noise outside, but if you're used to typical city life it's not an issue.
The room was large, the shower is top notch and the bed was comfy. The staff are really nice and polite. The building itself is quite impressive to admire. The interior design of the hotel is a fusion of old Vienna and modern so it is really aesthetically pleasing to be in.

ArgentinaThe area where the hotel is located is not the greatest. Not a lot of restaurants or coffee places.
This is a lovely hotel, with great staff and located very conveniently to go in/out Vienna city center. The night staff was very accomodating, and helped me and my toddler with everything we needed (warm milk, crib, even a teddy bear!)

AustriaThere is nothing to reflect about. All in all, at least in line with the price-performance ratio or much better. So, nothing to add.
Charming crew! All in all everything fine. There is one thing to highlight above all: THE BREAKFAST! Amazing selection, great quality. Great value for money.

United KingdomShower was not consistently one temperature and toilet room was very small in the double room, difficult to shut the door when using it. I am gluten free and the bread took over half an hour to come out for breakfast and I was somewhat limited to what I could have but still paid the same money. Which was expensive for not much food.
Good location, staff friendly and rooms were homely

EstoniaThe room is very small, some may find it uncomfortable. But everything suited me. The room is near the elevator and sometimes clients close the doors noisily, you can hear it. The air conditioner is directed towards the bed, but this is a problem in almost all hotels. The room is far from the reception and there is no Wi-Fi.
The room is very well thought out logically. Compact, but has everything you need. I asked for a quiet room, which was kindly provided. The breakfast is wonderful, beyond all praise. A vegan has a lot of different goodies for himself. And the live music at the weekend breakfast is wonderful. I had great pleasure. The administrator kindly printed out my boarding pass for the plane.

PolandNothing very bad, but some hiccups. We booked one room with twin bed (for me and my wife) and another one with two single beds for our kids. However upon arrival we were told that the room for kids has one double bed. Only after we protested it turned out that there actually is a two-single-beds room available. The beds were put together so the staff had to come and move them apart and bring extra sheets. I don't really know if that's because of Booking.com not relaying info correctly or because of some other issue, but we made a specific point to have two single beds in a room for kids and that's not what we were offered. The other room, the one with double bed for me and my wife, had no separate bathroom, the shower was in the room itself, separated only by a glass pane. It looked cool but didn't feel very private, also it was difficult to shower without spilling the water on the wooden floor of the room itself (which had some dark discolourations already). The toilet was set up in a separate, very small closet-like space, so tiny that with doors closed it was actually difficult to use it (think banging your knees on the door when sitting on the toilet). That was the biggest drawback of the whole setup to be honest, it was simply uncomfortable. The cleaning staff did not replace our towels, they were not drying because of the AC so we left them on the floor which usually means 'please replace our towels' but they just hung them up all drenched back on the hooks. The room was also not very soundproof, we were woken up by people having a regular conversation next door (which is another issue, if you're in a hotel, you might want to perhaps NOT have a family discussion on 8AM on a Sunday).
Convenient location near the U station. The hotel itself looks quite nice and the staff is nice and helpful. It's an old building with some really cool features, like old oak floorboards or vintage staircases and elevators. Very efficient AC (quiet but powerful) which was a really nice feature as it was scorching hot outside. A nice selection of foods at breakfast, with some really good sweets (cakes and such). The rooms and all facilities are well taken care of and clean. Since it's an old apartments building converted into a hotel, the rooms have surprising shapes and don't feel impersonal as hotels often do.
