I can smell a bit of dust from the carpets from the living room outside my room and the room is hot, there is a fan provided but it would be better if heating is lowered a little so customers are more comfortable and satisfied.

Location at the center, quiet, jar of water offered, it has everything you need - toiletries & accessories for a boutique hotel ( except that you bring your own toothpaste as the dental kit comes with a very small tube (which i don’t expect the hotel to provide toothpaste all throughout my stay, there is a robe & slippers and most importantly a very clean bath tub for a hot salt bath (salt crystals provided by hotel - lush!) There is also a restaurant in the hotel which serves until 9/10pm with very friendly staff and stunning service, plus overlooking the lake.

The mattress on the bed in my room (104) appeared to be somewhat lopsided.. I’m unsure as why that’s the case but I felt like I was sleeping tilted on one side.

Fabulous reception staff - we were unfortunately left stranded at a nearby train station on the day of arrival but a quick call to the hotel reception saw them sending a taxi within 15 minutes. Given we were sort of in the middle of nowhere this was much appreciated. Staff have been ever so helpful throughout our stay - helping us with reservation at the hotel restaurant, sorting out a pre packed breakfast on our departure day etc - nothing was too much trouble. The location is smack bang in the middle of the Marktplatz - the ferry is less than a minute away and the iconic photograph spot is just a 5 minutes walk.

The price we had to pay for a one night stay on new years with the view of the lake was a bit too much, 590 and we expected to have at least a special view like prearranged fireworks to offset the price. This wasn’t there which was ok but then the room was heavily overpriced. Then on check out we got the question to pay an additional 6 euro city tax, which is a bit outrageous if you’re already charging 590 for a room.

Beautiful property and centrally located in the heart of Hallstatt. Staff was helpful to get a table on a booked night which was great.

Having a restaurant in the hotel was a big plus for us. We especially enjoyed breakfast each morning. The amazingly friendly staff took care of our every need - including an extra night stay when we had a gorgeous though very wet snowfall which made for great fun making snowmen but treacherous travel. We had visited 6 years ago and hope to make it back again much sooner!

Breakfast wasn't up to scratch for a hotel of this quality and price. Staff were good, but lacked any real warmth or friendliness (for example, we were almost refused entry to breakfast because time was tight even though we got there 40 minutes before it was meant to close, and when we came to check in at 2pm the first thing the man said to us was "check in opens at 3" rather than welcoming us, taking our bags, and suggesting we go check out the town for an hour before coming back to check in)

Incredible location and a beautiful room. The balcony from the room had such amazing views. The room was fitted out well and very comfortable and large. Good mix of old world charm and modern conveniences. The restaurant for lunch was good as well

Impossible to dislike anything. From the view in the back for the main square or the lake view in the front, everything is perfect. All kind of options for the magic breakfast, allied with the lake view, just amazing. Top room conditions. The employees are always ready to help you for anything.

Great hotel in the perfect location to explore Hallstatt - right in the center of town! The hotel has a really good restaurant too, and is only steps from the boat which takes you to the train station on the other side of the lake. Couldn’t imagine a better place to stay in Hallstatt.

We were on the third floor and had a balcony looking out onto Lake Hallstatt, but there were built-in wooden privacy barriers on each side of our balcony preventing guests from seeing anything but straight ahead if sitting down. You could see all of Hallstatt if you stood up, leaned out and over the balcony. The room we booked said lakeview and that's what we got, but if you are looking for views of beautiful Hallstatt AND the lake, make sure the room/view description says that specifically. We stayed toward the end of the season and the typical build up of slimy algae on the wood decking, from being located right on the lake, was needing attention. Maybe cleaning is done only at the beginning of the season. If you walk out of town to toward the lookout area to take pictures, there are several signs reminding you that residents live there and to respect their property, however, there are enough of them to make you feel slightly admonished for just being there. All in all a pretty over-priced stay.

The room was nice and very clean. The hotel was located in the heart of Hallstatt. Not a lot to do, but there are lots of little shops to peruse and if you walk out of town you'll find a great spot to get some really picturesque photos. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was fine, but was nothing special. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of continental options.

As far as the hotel goes, the lobby is not staffed 24/7, so when we had a problem early on a Saturday morning, there was no one from the hotel to help us, we were on our own. As far as Hallstatt goes, it is a singularly remarkable experience, especially reflections off the lake during early dawn and dusk hours. Absolutely magical. Sadly, Hallstatt is somewhat a victim of its own grandeur, as it is essentially fixed in size, but has been "discovered" by tour groups from around the globe, and on any given day it can be absolutely overrun by hoards of tourists and gigantic tour groups. Our first day here, this happened to us. Enormous tour groups swarmed the city leaving no restaurant seat vacant, every ATM empty, and no public restrooms in working order. It was like a sea of locusts had come through. Thankfully, the next day they were gone, and we kind of had the place to ourselves. But be warned. And it seems some of the locals share this sentiment. We saw one sign in the window of a house that read in German: "Hallstatt - Everything for the tourists, and nothing for us".

Great old hotel situated right on the main square steps from the boat landing with beautiful views to the lake and a sumptuous lakeside restaurant.
