Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I would appreciate tea/coffee making facility in the room.
Very nice hotel, located on the main street, but quiet, so allowed good night sleep. Spacious rooms, large bathroom, comfy bed. Breakfast served in nice room, good quality food and good coffee. I would recommend for a business or holiday stay.

I didn’t like the pillows this time. They were extremely thin and soft. I prefer memory foam pillows.
I like the mattress as it is very firm. Everything is very clean. Good breakfast.

Pillows were a funny size, one was too low but two were too high. Staff at the breakfast were very rude the second morning, we were not approached at all to be asked if we wanted hot food. Then the cleaning staff came for the room as we were still getting ready. We still had 20-30 minutes before check out time which made it feel a bit like we were being rushed out as they sat outside waiting - they were not unfriendly though.
Old stlye building right in centre of Steyr, room looking out over the main square. Room was very spacious, bed was comfortable. Great breakfast. Overall good stay.

A wonderful boutique hotel. Nicely furnished and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and any requests we had were dealt with in a timely manner. Will certainly be returning to Stadthotel Styria again.

The rooms where quite hot and the underfloor heating was hard to adjust. However, this was quickly resolved after speaking with reception.
A wonderful boutique hotel. Nicely furnished and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and any requests we had were dealt with in a timely manner. Will certainly be returning to Stadthotel Styria again.

Too many people are smoking in the front, too closed to the exit. You cannot avoid the cigarette smoke.
Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Quick response to fix a minor issue.

At least one complimentary bottle of water is a minimum these days. Disappointing that we had to purchase water from the mini bar

No parking at the hotel, but the big and modern garage across the river is just a short walk away
Right at the town square. Breakfast room with 17th century ceiling is really beautiful. Very serviceminded staff.

Impossible to find fault
From the moment we checked in with a super reception from a charming gentleman we loved every moment in this hotel. Lovingly restored in one of the most beautiful buildings in the centre of this attractive town no expense has been spared in attention to detail. The breakfast buffet was excellent - certainly the best we have had in Austria.

Only minor thing there was not soap on toilet, soap was only in bathroom. We did not have more time to enjoy the place.
Room 102 look like on photos. We had view to square. Room is big. You can almost dance there. Breakfast was delicious with lot of variety.

Nothing. Maybe parking is a bit far from hotel.
Everything. Staff were kind and very helpful. We got a huge and comfortable room. The location is excellent right in the beautiful city center. Very good breakfast.
