To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

AustraliaShower dirty had to wear thongs, floor and grout dirty dirty shower corners, plastic strip on the bottom of the shower door dirty which I cleaned with the towel, dirty underwear under the sink which smelt of pee not very happy for the price of over $400 we paid for 2 nights and not vacuumed.no detergent to wash the cups.

AustraliaAccess code didn’t work so needed to contact for another one. Fire alarm evacuation at 3.23am which had us waiting outside for an hour before returning back inside. Not much sleep for the time we were staying due to this disturbance.

AustraliaThere was some hair in the shower drain but I was happy with the cleanliness of everything else. Poor noise insulation meant we could hear neighbours in the morning.
This was a real last minute booking as we had accidentally booked our other accommodation for the wrong date d'oh! The lady on the phone was helpful in giving me information on the room rates and information about the check in process. There are no staff on site but the code system was easy and the place felt safe overall. It wasn't too far off the highway which was great for us as we were continuing our drive the next morning. There were also some fast food options nearby which was very handy for our late night arrival. The deluxe king room was massive! The room also had a fridge, TV and air conditioner. We had a comfortable nights stay and were grateful to have secured a safe place to sleep for the night.
