Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The pillows were too hard. Small pool and not a lot of open space around for a relaxing lay by the pool.
Location and my studio room was lovely, quiet and sunny outdoor patio. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom amenities.

Tv was hard to manage. Room was a bit dark and shady. Could have been more privacy in the bedroom as the stairs were outside the window.The spa pool could have been a few degrees warmer.
Great location . Room was good,loved the bed and the shower. Easy walk to beach and downtown. Good kitchen facilities.

My apartment was very noisy as it was very close to one of the very busy roads into and out of Byron. I was very disappointed there was not a direct path to the beach like there was with many of the other accommodation options close to where I was staying. Given there was no direct path to the beach I had to walk into town to access the sea. I would have much preferred to go to the beach and walk straight back to my apartment after a swim. Because I could not access the beach directly - I only swam the once during my stay. There were limited options re: preparing food for yourself - only a toaster - a kettle and a fridge - no microwave.
My room was very spacious as a solo traveler. I found it to be in a spot that was not too far from town so that I could walk there every day. I am an older person who is not very fit - so I really appreciated that the walk into town was on a flat pavement and close to wonderful shops, cafes and restaurants. I felt very safe whilst staying in my apartment.

Our iron didn’t work at all. The reception was also closed at times that it stated it was open so we weren’t able to meet any staff in person.
Room was really nice and clean. Only 5 min walk from the town centre. There was also a really nice pool and hot tub. Staff were also very helpful in sending us a pair of sunglasses that were left behind back to us!

Very clean and comfortable. As we made an online booking the only staff member we had contact with was from housekeeping. She was very friendly and did an exceptional job of keeping the rooms clean. Also great secure parking on site.

Two single beds pushed together to make a large double. It was uncomfortable in the middle where the beds joined.

Bed very uncomfortable, has a huge dip in it. Furniture in room 12A not comfortable either, lounge is small and cushioned seats just slide off.

Lack of staff at the desk to manage check in/out and any issues which popped up.
Comfortable clean room with a fab little pool and hot tub area next door. Within walking distance to all major shops/bars/restaurants. Friendly Staff!

Swimming pool is one of the smallest we’ve seen. But we kind of expected that. Nearby beach is great.
Great place, good facilities incl washing machine, and well located. The place was calm and quiet.

The difficulty getting in and out of the bathroom, particularly at night. It was very tight but I realise this cannot be changed. It’s just the way it was built. Otherwise, all was great. Thank you.
The bed was very comfortable and, for a studio apartment, it was quite spacious… except for the bathroom. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
