Gorgeous cottage with everything you need and very warm and cosy despite its age. It was lovely to be able to wander through the broader property and connect with its history.

    Nothing, everything was perfect.

Very happy with our stay, I love history and travelling and Brickendon allowed me to combine the two. The beds were very comfortable and our hosts warmed the cottage before arrival and this was very appreciated. The cottage was well fitted out and clean. The fire place was welcome making our night very cosy. Electric blankets on the beds were very welcome and the sunrise from the verandah the next morning was exceptional! This was our second stay having stayed in the Pumpkin Cottage previously. I can’t praise our accommodation enough and thoroughly recommend Brickendon to anyone who wants to combine history and comfort and everything in between! In one word, perfect!!

    Having to leave!

Sweetcorn was a fabulous cottage with ample room, comfortable beds, abundant kitchen equipment, and generous breakfast provisions. The fresh farm eggs were delicious! Especially when enjoyed on the verandah with morning sun and picture perfect rural outlook. Perfect retreat at the end of a long day, or better still, just stay at the site all day. Thank you.

    Nothing- it was wonderful

A really unique and special experience. The cottage was full of warmth, character and charm, with attention paid to small but important details. The history, the opportunity to learn about and explore it was wonderful and added to make it even better.

Wonderful to have time to explore and to be immersed in the life of early colonial Tasmania - buildings, garden were amazing. Waking up to a rural outlook was such a bonus. The location also gave us time to wander the streets of Longford and to explore the towns history as well. Breakfast provisions were provided - we cheated and had them for tea, savouring our time in the cottage.

Pumpkin cottage was quaint, quiet and had everything we needed, the history of Brickendon is amazing. A fire and wine at night then a wander around the grounds before we left. Be sure to watch the video about the Archer family history. Thank you for opening up your farm for others to enjoy.

I understand authenticity needs to be preserved but it would have been nice to have somewhere comfortable to sit.

The cottage was rustic with the shower over a claw bath. This was difficult to get in and out.

We felt very privileged to be staying on an heritage site and working farm. The cottage was private and cosy. We loved how we could wander the gardens and pick ripe mulberries. Peaceful. A very valuable historical experience.

I had problems starting the gas stove and that was all.

I really like how authentic the property was. I loved the setting of the cottage surrounded by a cottage garden on a farm away from everything else.

Loved what was provided in the kitchen however we had our little dog and no sharp knife to cut up her food

The location. The peaceful rural view from the back verandah and the breakfast that was there for us. Loved the horse in the paddock behind and the bird life

We got a little lost heading to the property and ended up at the historical village side.

It was very charming, unique and you felt like you had stepped back in time. We were greeted by the resident chicken Tuk Tuk and of course, the manager. The friendly manager brought us farm fresh eggs and an ample supply of breakfast food for our stay. The Coachman’s Cottage was in excellent shape for being almost 200 years old. It was the perfect, quiet and lovely stay for our last night in Tassie. Would have liked to stay longer to explore the area.

Loved the cottage and pretty garden as well stayed in the gardeners cottage. Sat on the verandah for sunset drinks surrounded by dusk chorus. Peaceful and relaxing. Loved being able to explore the historic farm too as well as the stunning historic garden.
