The two nights that we stayed where extremely hot but the air conditioner that was in the room was efficient and quiet, allowing for a good night's sleep. The property is close to a hotel which has quite good meals and table service. We booked and paid on line so we didn't see the owners. The room facilities were as expected, and clean, bed was comfortable and had a good selection of pillow sizes. The shower was a bit hard to regulate, but once finely tuned it was ok. As a general comment about motels, I don't like long life milk and it would be good to be able to get real milk on request. Admittedly I didn't ask.

On a main road but was quiet as it possibly could being behind buildings at the entrance. lorikeets were noisy but who would complain about that? Not me. Only writing something here to keep a balance review but if either of those bother you, you should stay home.

Budget motel. I was delighted to find something i thought didn't exist - A nicely furnished room that was neutral but had character by the clever use of patterns and textures with the furnishings and artwork that didn't look like mass produced rubbish from a bargain shop. Facilities provided were good, clean and nicely arranged. I will return here when I'm next in Geelong. Given the price point and it being an old style motel I was pleasantly suprised and delighted with the room. I was here for the Ironman event

Unfortunately, the palm trees attract a great many parrots that roost in them over night and at dawn they are very loud. Other than that it was very quiet.

It was clean, comfortable and convenient to what I needed to do at Deakin University near by.

Very clean and functional in a great location. The beds were very good and the set up was very practical. The contactless check in and out went smoothly. Overall, this was good value and we were very happy to have found it, as there was high demand that weekend and not much available.

Still operating a no-contact policy due to Covid. However, all guests have to use the same phone outside a closed reception yet no sanitiser offered. Guests are also instructed (not requested) to wash all items used and return them to the appropriate cupboard (again under the guise of Covid restrictions) - which is underwritten by a warning of a cleaning charge if the instruction is not followed. No problem at all with washing the items used but true Covid restrictions firmly place the responsibility on the host, not the departing guest! This also suggests the items are only as clean as the last guest left them. In short, it seems that these 'restrictions' are present to protect the host rather than the guests. All a bit strange to have stayed at a motel in 2024 yet not met anyone in person and with no official Covid restrictions in place.

The Golden Palms didn’t offer a Breakfast Service, as I’d imagine it would be on-par with the rest of their exceptional service.

The Golden Palms was nothing but Golden, was contacted about my late check-in very promptly, in which they accommodated for very dearly. All in all very happy with my stay.

We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as we were mostly camping and had our own supplies, but enjoyed our stay once we found the hotel's location, as coming from Sydney, and driving around the ring route by-passing Melbourne, I as the driver was somewhat disorientated, even though I'd attempted to research map and location on the internet. Other than that problem it was a good place to stay.
