The laundry prices were slightly steep ($5 each for washing and drying) The shuttle bus was free for my collection from the bus stop but there was a small charge to get dropped for a departure. Would have been nice to have been free considering there were several people requiring the service. Hervey Bay is quite spread out so most other attractions require bus, bike rental, DiDi or Beam scooter. The K'gari tours will collect you from the hostel though which is great. Bus services in Hervey Bay finish quite early. Bins were outside the building, none in the kitchen, but I get that from the perspective of avoiding flies. Main light switch in the 5 bed dorm was next to the pillow of a bottom bunk, a bit awkward.

The super cheap ($5/day) bike rental to wander around the bay and there's 4/5 available to rent. The shuttle bus to and from the Greyhound bus stop, otherwise it's a 40 minute walk. The volleyball area. The walk in fridge that's well able to remain cold. The free breakfast from 6:30am to 9am. Random free BBQ at 6:30pm one evening. The friendly staff.

Despite the good location, Harvey Bay is uneventful and the hostel is far from any shop.

Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms with en-suite bathrooms and showers, pool, nice social area, good kitchen, decent location, friendly long term guests, free breakfast, good value for money.

I booked a bed in a 7-bed dormitory, with AC. The dormitory is wide and large enough, so you do not feel packed at all. The bed is a bunk bed, large enough, with a fair enough good mattress. For this dorm, you have access to an ensuite bathroom (separate shower, separate toilet, separate sink). All were clean. You also have access to a fully equipped kitchen, from 7am to 8:30pm. Complimentary breakfast from 7am to 9am (cereal, toast, tea/coffee). The common space is nice. Free pool table, swimming pool. The WiFi is good. 200m away from main beach. 2.1km away from Woolworths / Coles supermarket. 3.1km away from Greyhound / Premier Motor Service bus stop, the hostel offers a complimentary shuttle service matching the Greyhound daytime schedule. The staff (Sarah) is nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for a short or a long stay.

Arrived to check in at 3pm, given keys and found the room not cleaned yet. Had a chat with the reception staff and they immediately sorted it out, so that was great.

Rooms require updating ( wires hanging out of walls etc) and whole place needs a bit of TLC. Found it difficult to find anyone to check in on both occasions we stayed there- felt they were understaffed.

Good communual facilites- large kitchen, pool table and swimming pool.

We had booked a room with a private bathroom however, there was no direct access from our room itself. We had to leave our room to get to the bathroom.

Very friendly staff with a nice atmosphere, nice outside area and kitchen. Complementary breakfast included. Very good price.

My mattress was okay but the frame was broken. I try to manage myself but no one notice me until I felt.

1st if all, have private bathroom in a room. This is so good. I only share with ‘room-mate’.

The bed was broken. The issue was escalated to owner by the local responsibles, but not solved : It should NOT BE PROPOSED to anyone who wants to rest and have paid to rest !

the bedrooms where very crammed not much floor space, the communal bathroom were a bit dirty some one had put clingfilm down one and it was all blocked up. Many long stay people who wasn’t keen on mingling

Beds were squeaky, and you have to make up your bed yourself when you arrive. The sink in the shared rooms with ensuite is in the room so it’s easy to be woken up or wake others up

just need to clean doors of rooms and the bloke in my room stunk, like rotten. Been there for months and little regards for his mouse levels, smell and was the only disappointment in the stay.

Excellent location, staff are super friendly and hospitable. Amenities and facilities are great, typical hostel features. Really easy to organise tours etc.
