Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandThe ‘project’ needs to be finished.
We were in the older wooden building that was partly restored. Interesting interior but not up to ‘modern’ standards except the small bathroom. The exterior was scruffy.

Cute historic home. Good heating once it was up to speed. Nice communal space, great shower. Loved the exposed brickwork and preserved timber door.

AustraliaIt's a pity Whites corner hasn't been further developed in its present format, certainly not for everyone. The cottage we had for our stay would present a challenge for a lot of people who have mobility issues.
It's a nice little town with much history. Towns folk were very friendly. It was close to drive to other destinations we also wanted to see.

AustraliaLow ceiling, but this was just something to be aware of. Tap in bathroom vanity was unusual and could easily result in water on the floor.
Bothwell was on the way to our final destination, and a great historic town to stop at on the way. Historic building (1837) treated with respect for its restoration.

AustraliaEverything was great for what it was. A cleverly renovated very old cottage. Quite a few nice surprises. We loved it but had to remind ourselves of low doorways.
This was a surprise. An 1827 cottage with full use of the cottage facilities. Located a short walk to the local pub for dinner. There are low doorways and ceilings in some areas so not suited to everybody but we enjoyed the experience.

AustraliaI didn’t like only staying 1 night should have been more and the bathroom basin tap.
whites corner is a heritage property and so unique. It was like stepping back in time. Still little things to do and the bloody front door is only 175cm tall so I kept hitting my head but overall fantastic beautiful property worth staying at.

Australiathe picture featured of the substantial brick house is not where we stayed. the cottage next door is not in the photos. renovation is ongoing with materials in evidence in other outbuildings. the Castle hotel was closed, so only dinner option was local fuel/ convenience stop. it closed 5 mins after our visit. we had sandwiches!
very sympathetically decorated. lovely feel if you like old places.

AustraliaOur only problems with the place were in the bathroom. The ridiculous tap flooded the space saver vanity basin no matter how carefully you used it, and the toilet seat was broken and kept falling off.
Some great little touches in this uniquely renovated property. Great kitchen set up, plenty of extra heaters (as it was freezing inside when we got there!). Beds are doubles, very comfy, but my husband is six foot tall and didn’t cope with feet hanging over the end. Great spot in centre of town, across from the park and caravan park..

Australiano complaints
this property is full of history (and maybe a ghost ??) and was a major building/business in the towns past. The owners have done a great job maintaining the character of the building and installing some modern facilities - it is a bit quirky, but we loved it

AustraliaWhat was there not to like.
We love old historic homes and this place certainly ticked all the boxes for us. Going on 200 years old it should be preserved as a historic home for cultural viewing in our opinion. For us staying here overnight, experiencing the feel of the place and looking through all the associated outbuildings was the experience of a lifetime.

AustraliaWe stayed in an old decrepit building which is not the one advertised on the cover picture of this place. While the history of the building next door is interesting … the building itself is in need of serious refurbishment. I would definitely not recommend, I was ashamed to take my parents there.
The vintage interior is a pleasant surprise and the house was perfectly clean BUT …
