Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomHandy location within a short walk of the centre. Great little bar with friendly staff and good range of beer. Breakfast buffet was good with a good variety on offer.

GermanyWe were given 2 big bath towels but no bath mat for the bathroom floor. No problem to request for one, but that’s just a little standard housekeeping detail. Bathrooms always get wet. The bed was fine but the sofa could sure use an upgrade. Tough sit on the tailbone, uncomfortable to sleep on for 3 nights.
The reception was very friendly and accommodating. The private apartment for 2 was spacious, light and very clean. Location convenient, easy walk to town.

IndiaA lil off the main area. The staff is friendly but i faced alot of issues while checking in. I was early so I was made to wait for a few hours. When the bed was assigned it was not cleaned. When I reported this to the reception they again made me climb two stories to check. I had to again bring my luggage down two stories while they sorted the issue. I had to leave the luggage & my other stuff at the restaurant as I had to go for a walking tour.I was allotted another room in the evening ..had to again drag my luggage up to the second floor. 🥹 Floor makes a lot of noise . The bar is enough to keep you awake and the floor makes up for the rest.
Bed was comfortable, Breakfast was okay.

GreeceReceptionists could be better and more competent at their work. They charged a little more at the check in, but the issue was resolved quickly. They also forgot to give us the key for the room, so I had to return to the reception to retrieve it, losing precious time. The room doesn't have good soundproofing, so it can be a bit noisy.
Great location, cheap drinks and food at the bar. They have indoor parking space for bicycles too. The apartment was nice with a spacious living room. Overall very acceptable for the price and the location, being in the expensive Bruges of course.

MexicoThe breakfast was like a buffet so you can eat whatever you want, I think it is simple but complete, it was the first time I went to a Hostel so I didn't know that I should rent the towel, £nd also to leave your luggage after accommodation or before you must pay extra between 2€ to 4€. Everything else is good, the location is far from the center but you can walk there in 15 minutes

AustraliaIt was too rowdy for me but might suit other travellers who enjoy the strong youth vibe.
This hostel is great value for money in Bruges. I booked the double room with a private bath but it was really noisy. Everytime the guests next door came in or out, the door slammed and I could hear them talking, it was quite irritating when it was past midnight and early at 7am in the morning. When I walk down the stairs, I could hear girls talking in their rooms from the stairwell. Besides that, it's close to the old town (about a 10 min walk) and it's an enjoyable walk to the old town. Lots of second hand shops along the way, if that's your thing.

IrelandThe only issue we encountered were the pillows we got were too large. Maybe we could have asked for others but these were good for sitting in the bed as back support.
It was clean and calm but we had a private room on the 2nd floor. It was large enough and the bathroom was very cleans and large enough.

AustraliaIt’s quite an old building so it was quite a loud creepy place when walking around and there was quite a lot of steep steps going up.
Private room was in the attic of an apartment which had a large kitchen and living area. The bathroom was always warm and sunny and the bar/reception area was rather cool. Also bike rental for guests was only €8 for 4 hours! WiFi was good and chrome cast provided in TV!
