We were asked for a damage deposit,. We didn't have pets nor smoked. I don't think our appearance would indicate we were rowdy types.

There was a gurgling sound in the bath tub drain a few times that sounded as though it was going to back up and flood when you used the sink in the kitchenette. or the suite next door used theirs. The walls are thin so you could hear everything the next suite was doing or saying.

The little kitchen in the room was nice.

The room was clean and upgraded to a top standard. The person on the desk was very pleasant. I was also given a good suggestion for the cleaning staff as to were I could get a good meal.

The parking lot next to the office is impinged by the angle of the office protruding into the centre of it. It is not that easy to park a large 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck. Larger vehicles should park behind the motel. Also, although the room had a standard “keyed” deadbolt, the room had no security chain on the inside of the door. Lastly, there is no microwave in the room which is usually standard in most places these days.

The room was very clean. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The TV was modern with good channel selection.

As a small motel owned and operated by one person, the fact that no-body can be at work 24 hours a day, every day, must be taken into account. I was not able to check in when I arrived before 5 p.m., which was unexpected but understandable. If this doesn't bother you, you'll be fine, but if you need a 24-your (or even 12-hour) reception desk open, you should look elsewhere.

This is an older property that has been carefully and expertly updated, and is maintained in superb condition.

Overall it was clean and comfortable but there was a previous occupants left over Chinese meal in the fridge! I won't lie, it had been a long day and I was tempted...lol! I left a note to point it out.

A newly refurbished room with stove, fridge, microwave, kettle, pots and pans with utensils. Bathroom was small but clean and with a good enough shower head. The room os old and therefore small by modern standards but the bed was a new, with a comfy mattress. A/C was good and the wifi quite quick (I didn't look at the tv). Lighting was strange but OK. Very friendly, knowledgeable owner/staff. Parking was right outside the door and it was only a short walk into the downtown area, such as it is in Cranbrook... It is a town on the way to other places!

The train that goes by shakes the room, which was a bit hard as a light sleeper but nothing at fault of the property.

We ended up finding this motel last minute as it was the last one in town; and when we showed up, the owner was very gracious and kind! She even let us have a bigger room for the following night at the same price. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. The location was great and I liked the homey energy of the place.

Close to train tracks so we turned on the AC for “white noise”

It is extremely clean! It had a new wonderful small kitchen with stove top burners, refrigerator, microwave, sink and table and chairs.
