Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaNothing at all, but make sure you are ok with somewhat uneven floors. It’s a historical building: I loved the character!
Amazing breakfast with fresh baked pastries! Perfect location, safe and easily-accessed parking. The garden out back is peaceful. The sitting area (parlour) for guests is a nice touch. Oh, and don’t forget the Adirondack chairs set up enjoy an ocean-front coffee from the lovely shop just steps away.

United KingdomThe room was a bit too warm at night and we used the portable fan at full power. The weather was warm and humid so this may be an exception to the rule.
Beautiful heritage house on the waterfront in the centre of Annapolis Royal with a pleasant lawn by the waterside where you can relax in comfortable chairs. Our host was hospitable and helpful and has preserved the spirit of the house as it was built.

Breakfast was amazing. Very delicious. Probably more food than we can eat. Everything was so clean. Our bed was extremely comfortable!

United States of AmericaThe only thing that we wished for was AC. We did have a fan, but climate change is making the weather unusually warm and humid for this area. The open windows facing the water helped, but it was still a little uncomfortable.
Fantastic historical inn (c. 1770) in a quaint, quiet part of the island. Spectacular location right on the water, with Adirondack chairs for sitting and soaking in the views of the tidal swings. The innkeeper is very particular in keeping the place clean, and the decor is well appointed with original features, updated bathrooms, comfortable beds and quality linens and bath products, and very well maintained. Her homemade breakfasts were stellar - fresh fruit, homemade breads and pastries, and a main egg dish. She is a little gruff but kind, and she offered super advice on where to eat, what to do, where to go in the area.

United States of AmericaIt was hot and there is no AC, but that would not stop us from a return visit!
The Inn keeper was very nice and accommodating. She had a talent for Interiors and particularly all the artwork at the Inn. Her place was impeccable and comfortable. It was located a wonderful little town. Suzan, the Inn keeper, made several recommendations that were spot on. The gardens on the property were wonderfully done and easy to enjoy.

CanadaOur host did her job, but never really seemed happy to be there, or to have us as guests. When we arrived, we shared that we had just been married. Her response was..."Hmm..." When I asked her to recommend galleries that we should check out, she asked, "Galleries?" (the Inn was located right next to a gallery), and I said, "Yeah, there's like 12 in town..." and she cut me off, saying "Well -- I know that. I *do* live here." Charming. That said, she cooks a mean breakfast, has an amazing backyard garden, and owns a lovely inn.
The location was amazing. Right on the water, looking across the channel to the neighbouring village of Granville Ferry. Breakfast was excellent. The room was lovely -- comfortable and well-appointed.

The 1770 house was stunning! Our room was beautiful, the bed was amazing and the old world charm of the house was so warm and welcoming. Get ready for one of the most amazing breakfasts. It was varied and plenty. It was a gourmet meal. Susan the host met all of our needs. She was marvellous.

We believe this might have been the finest B and B we have ever stayed in. Suzan has impeccable taste and truly exemplifies Hospitality. The Bailey House is warm and wonderful and the rooms so comfy. Her breakfast, full of homemade goodies were so wonderful. Also loved her Portuguese Water Dog, Lucy, who let you love on her while you were missing your own dogs. We cannot say enough!

CanadaThe only downside, which was a small thing, was the bed was a bit uncomfortable for us. It was an older style mattress that is springy and makes you roll to the middle. The feather bed was nice though.
Couldn't say more about the loction of The Bailey House, you can walk to everything in town and you are right at the water for amazing sunsets. The breakfast was wonderful and the host was very welcoming, even helping us with a dinner reservation on our first night. Overall I would highly reccomend the property.

United States of AmericaThis is a lovely, perfectly furnished, and well-run historic property in Annapolis Royal. No detail was overlooked to make the visit special and welcoming for each guest. The rooms were beautifully appointed to compliment this historic home, the beds comfortable with lovely linens, the location quiet, but convenient to all aspects of this charming town. The inn overlooked the Annapolis Basin of the Bay of Fundy, and several times we watched the sunset and the unusual tidal patterns while seated in the beach style chairs placed there. At the back of the house was a lovely garden. The breakfasts were top notch, created from a new menu daily utilizing fresh, local ingredients, with plenty of great hot coffee or tea. The owner host was filled with great suggestions for spending ones time throughout the area, and a bonus was her well-behaved and charming dog. We were very glad of our visit to this B & B.
