Being self contained was a bonus own private entrance , fully equipped kitchen so you can cook something if you did want to eat out , upstairs for bedroom .

The stairs were a bit of a challenge as we had lots of suitcases and the stairs were narrow as it was a house that was originally built in 1915, but the decor and the ambience made up for it.

We had our own kitchen facilities where we could make our own meals. We could go out on the property and sit on the hill that overlooked the ocean. It was so beautiful and the owners encouraged our sitting out and enjoying the view.

There’s a few steps from the main bedroom to the bathroom- could be a trip hazard.

Clean, charming, quiet, private, and so close to the ocean! I could see the ocean from the bedroom window. Bonus surprise: I didn’t realize that we would have access to a full kitchen!

We couldn't ask for anything better. For us everything exceeded our expectations.

We didn't know what to expect when we booked this location and I can tell you that it exceeded our expectation. The location was amazing across the street from the ocean and a very short drive to restaurants. Trails and Cape Bonavista Light house was just a short 5 min drive. The bedroom was beautifully kept and super clean. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you needed to make food. Herb and Janice were always available to answer any questions you had. Thank you Herb and Janice.

Cozy and sparkilng clean room in an old house full of history. Don't miss all the objects and explanations around the house. Bed was very confortable, we could hear de sea during the night. All directions, check-in and home instructions were very clear. The bathroom was super clean, functional and amenities were provided. I wish we could have stayed longer to have the time to talk and learn more about the owners!

A little difficult to find, but once in, the property was great. We experienced two separate units (I confused the dates, but Herb the host was most accommodating), and they were both spacious and excellent. Scrupulously clean and well set out, it was a very good experience. The outlook was a bonus, too. Highly recommended.

The dormer ceiling was difficult to manoeuvre around without bumping your head, especially on the window side of the bed. Maybe a stronger colour distinction between the ceiling and wall would catch your eye?

Difficult to find. We got lost so many times in Bonavista, but maybe that is just me.

This 103 year old house has been beautifully renovated and decorated. The room had an attached sitting area, looking out over the sea. Amazing views over the water.We had the house to ourselves as 2nd guest had cancelled. We were greeted by host when we drove up. Very quiet and comfortable.

The walls are paper thin so you can hear whatever your neighbour tourists are doing/saying even if not whispering. Herb (the owner) and his wife weren’t there while we stayed so I’m not sure about noise from downstairs. A tour of the kitchen might be nice so we don’t have to go through everything to see where things are/what they have. Didn’t have bikes but we made friends with the neighbours who lent us bikes for a few days. I’m not sure what the going rate for b&b’s are in the area but it did seem like a lot in retrospect. But everything seems to have gone up in cost in Nfld, our whole trip was a trip of “oh the cost has gone up since we checked in March…”

I loved the room, we had the one with the extension that has a little viewing area so that you can watch the water from a couch or chair. It was within 10 minutes of arriving that we saw our first whale come up for a breath and went outside to get a better look. The bathroom was really lovely and clean. Bed is super comfy. Location of this place is fantastic. The best part about staying here was probably meeting the neighbouring houses - Peter from Red Point Retreat who was up there with his daughter and Charlene and Ryan who live across the street and gave us a real Newfie experience.

The only suggestion is to have a little coffee/tea station in the room. Other the that it was a lovely accommodation.

After a wonderful day driving up the peninsula to arrive at this historic home with it’s charm was just perfect!

I thought when we booked it included breakfast and they are still including a ‘breakfast rating’ on the site, but there is NO breakfast. Would just have appreciated knowing that because we had nothing with us. Also after getting key, we saw no staff for the 2 days we were there. Just hard to ask questions etc.

J. was exceptionally helpful. The muskoka chairs overlooking the water were perfect for reading, having a drink and birdwatching.
