Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

The room whilst spacious could do with an upgrade. The bathroom is old and dated
Location was good. Breakfast was also good and the room was spacious, and had a small kitchenette which was very helpful.

The small square Pillows were terrible. A little tired and worn.
Good breakfast options. Lovely feel as you walk in. Nice wide hallways.

The furniture and kitchenette can use some upgrade (actually the whole room in general; ours was on the second floor, first one on the right). The dryer wasn't working properly. We had to ask the receptionist to come down a few times to help launch it. The drying program was a bit confusing, so we ended up having to dry some of our clothes in the room. Also, there was no coin exchange machine or it wasn't working, so we had to ask the restaurant/bar for coins.
The room was spacious and clean. There is a very cute restaurant/bar on site where you can have happy hour beer and delicious calamari. The breakfast was great! When we were there, they had just bought a new automatic pancake maker. It was a great addition. Staff were very kind and helpful.

When we arrived to check in, we stood in line and were in time greeted with “Driver’s license and credit card.” There wasn’t a “Hello” or “Welcome”. There was a mattress leaning against the wall in the lobby that remained in place until the morning. I looked for the pool and never did find it and saw no signs providing directions.
Room was large, clean and comfortable. It was nice to sit on the balcony and the breakfast was great. Also lovely to have a restaurant attached where we had a lovely dinner.

The restaurant for dining had very good food, but was too loud. People are almost yelling to understand each other. The room was more then OK. It was only situated directly to a broad hall which was really noisy. You get waked up by the cleaners who push there cleaning trollies through this hall.

Bathroom was tiny compared to the size of the room. Seemed like a poor use of space, could have made the room smaller to fit a larger bathroom with a proper shower. Room was a bit dated.
Plenty of parking, close to the main road for an overnight stay. Breakfast provided was ok. Pool and hot spa (didn't use it however)

There is some highway noise and the racket the exhaust fan in the bathroom for 10 minutes on a timer through the night needs looking at an upgrade.
The location and ease of booking & availability at a couple of days notice and parking. Could also access coffee and food after arrival easily.

They didn’t have hot foods such as sausages,eggs,hash browns or bacon. But still they had a very good breakfast including lots of different hot drinks such as coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
