The bug screen was missing on the kitchen window of our cabin (not sure if it is the case with all cabins). We could not open it when we prepared our meal otherwise we would have had a beetle infestation. Same with the missing bug door from the porch. You had to keep the slide door closed in order for the beetles to stay out. Before going to bed you had to go hunt for the huge beetles that came into the house either during cleaning or while previous guests were staying who didn't mind having them in the house. One of the bedrooms had 7 beetles to be killed. The kitchen light is very dimm, not enough lightning.

Private cabin a few kilometres outside of town with kitchen and private hot tub on the porch. Friendly check in and breakfast staff. Complimentary breakfast with real cutlery. Waffle station...

Off season for them so restaurant was closed. We knew that and planned for the short trip back to town for dinner.

Area of improvement: although we liked belgian waffles, please add to your breakfast some cheese, eggs (hardboiled is fine) and some variety of berries/fruits. Bananas were green and unripe

No outside picnic benches. Only seating for 2 people on deck when it sleeps 6. Fire pit was around the back of the property with no seating area. Little to do around the property without leaving the resort.

The slightly redneck vibe outside the hotel was a bit unsettling at first. There is a 4-Wheeler rental shop which shares the parking lot. Grounds were unkept and patio furniture was strewn about the garden. Many flower pots around with dead foliage and no chairs to enjoy the huge veranda. Bathroom toilet needed servicing. I have never smelled anything as bad as the lobby washroom. As with so many places, they were understaffed and in dire need of a grounds keeper.

It was quiet (kind of deserted feeling) when we arrived. The hotel lobby was tidy and well kept. The receptionist was very friendly and helped to answer a few questions about the area, which we were unfamiliar with. Our room was ready a little early and we were able to check in right away. Indoor pool was great when it wasn't overflowing with guests.
