Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThere were three adults so one had to sleep on the couch. If I hadn't been 5'5" I would never have even fit plus its not the most comfortable sleeping surface -a roll of foam or thick mattress topper might help.
Great quiet and central location in a lovely older home close to Emily Carrs birthplace. Well equipped kitchen and off street parking were extra bonus features.

I loved James bay, beautiful part of Victoria. The flat was so quiet, I didn't hear a peep from the other flats. The flat looked out at the beautiful back yard.

United States of AmericaOther furniture was not adequate or comfortable. Tv was in the wrong room and the tiny couch was not adequate to use. No outlets in bathroom made it tough to use for hair styling.
Good location. Parking was usually easy to find. Bed was comfortable. Clean and tidy. Nice kitchen and appliances Complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch.

NetherlandsHonestly, for the insane price - this property needs quite a bit of work to justify the almost $300 a night. There were dead flies in the windows, the bed is VERY creaky and noisy, they use cheap 1 ply toilet paper, there were only 2 towels for 3 people provided (they did give us more after asking), the fridge doesn't fit the kitchen and is also VERY loud, there is barely enough cutlery, lots of cheap plastic in the kitchen, the sofa is SO uncomfortable and will kill your back when trying to relax at night -- all things that I guess are fine for a hostel but if you are renting out suites for this price then it definitely needs some TLC and improvement to justify the pricing. Wish I could give this place a 10/10 but it really needs some love and work.
LOVED the location! Also such a cute house, very charming. The suite is very bright and spacious. Cute decor. All the information was provided clearly and self check-in was very easy. Our toddler LOVED looking out the window to see the horses go by. There is also a cute yard with a plum tree!

CanadaThe toilet would continue to run each time it was flushed.
It was the perfect place to recuperate! We came to Victoria because I had a medical procedure and we needed a place to stay. The bedroom was bright, with windows that let in a nice breeze, so it was a pleasant place to rest. My husband was able to set up his laptop in the adjoining sitting room/kitchen to work while I rested. The small table and chairs on the deck provided a nice place to get out into the sun for awhile. It was also very quiet. The hosts left us a bottle of wine, which was a nice touch.

United States of AmericaThe plug didn't quite fit the drain hole in the bathroom sink, a big issue for cleaning my expensive RGP contact lenses. We were able to purchase an inexpensive plug that did fit, but a more secure closure would have been better. Bathroom could use more surfaces on which to put toiletries, etc.--we had to use the shelves in the hallway area. And, there was an unfortunate smell--slight but persistent. Perhaps some pet had an accident? We purchased some fragrant clove oil, which masked it pretty well.
There was a credit card issue (not ours or the property's--blame it on technology, I suppose) and the staff resolved it respectfully, although it made us temporarily anxious. Staff also fully answered questions I had about financial procedures. The space was roomy and surprisingly quiet, even when we slept with windows partly open. The kitchen was outfitted well enough that we cooked a few meals there, which was very nice. We loved the little deck space and the flowers planted in the yard.

CanadaYou can hear a bit through the walls of the other Suites but its not obtrusive. The furniture is a bit dated but the amenities and supplies in the Kitchen were excellent!
The Suite is well appointed and has everything you need for a stay in the city. Its a super a space with a back yard and BBQ yet - and a really good kitchen. So very clean and well maintained. Excellent location too! And they accept dogs... love them for that.

New ZealandKitchen: the windows that do open don’t have screens. In the bathroom : toiletries were minimal, very disappointing. The plug for the tub is all discoloured and should be replaced. There is some rotted wood on the bottom of the sink vanity. The bbq wouldn’t start so it might need repair ( or instructions). There was no sugar with the coffee supplies.
The unit is quite spacious. The kitchen had great appliances: even a blender. the lobby is nice and comfortable. with a pleasant fragrance from oil sticks. I liked the yard for my dog, and there was seating there on a patio. the back yard had a BBQ but I didn’t use it. The towels and the linens are good quality. it was a quiet building.

CanadaThe building is not soundproof and if neighbours in the adjoining suites were noisy it 'could' be a problem. However - maybe it attracts quiet people because our entire stay was very quiet even though both other suites were occupied.
The suite is in an older house on a lovely, quiet street. It was bigger than we expected and has a full kitchen that is complete with dishes, pots and pans, utensils, a toaster, blender, microwave, full-sized stove and fridge and even a complementary bottle of wine. The decor was pleasant and the beds comfortable. We completely enjoyed our stay and will return. I've already recommended it to friends.
