Instructions in room are dated re: locking door, hot tub instructions, area recommendations. However, these are simple things to fix and did not hinder the enjoyment of the property in any way!

Proximity to Sooke & environment. The hot tub is wonderful. Minimum contact with proprietor(s). Suited our purposes. Bed comfortable; bathroom & shower first rate!

A little more space for food would be nice. Unfortunately, the fridge was noisy, which was a bit of an issue at night.

The most marvelous thing was the peaceful location with a little private deck area. You can see a bit of the bay and the Whiffin Spit as well.

The bed was not comfy,limited dishes.No where to wash dishes.Breakfast and fruit were to be provided, but it was not. The website needs to be updated since some things have changed. From what I understand there is new Property management. And that is why some of the things that had been. There was also no place to hang your clothes as the closet. You weren't allowed to have anything except plastic cups by the hot tub. They were supposed to be provided but were not. The dishes that were provided to us could not be cleaned. Because there was nowhere to wash them, So they were left unwashed. There was no dish soap or tea towels either.

The new management company aren't great to deal with but I guess this is just one of many properties they run and it's no longer a family run cottage. A large additional cleaning fee of $75 was added to our booking, although we were given the option to cancel our booking but we had already made plans to visit Sooke so we went ahead. No staff onsite as it's managed remotely and they don't answer the phone, so you have to email them. Wouldn't rebook with Iris Properties.

Beautiful location, although you need a car. Favourite part of our stay here was getting a pizza delivered one evening after a soak in the hot tub and eating it on the decking watching the seals and eagles right next to us. Great location for wildlife. Cosy room, very peaceful.

Not sure anything could be better, I wish I had been able to stay longer!

This is a cute little property within a 2 minute walk of Whiffin Spit. The suite we stayed in had a queen bed in the main living area, and 2 twins in the one bedroom. It has a very basic kitchen, with coffee maker and beans from a coffee shop in Sooke(wicked awesome coffee), and a basket of snacks in the kitchen, as well as some fresh baked muffins in the fridge.

Really only minor things. Could do with a couple more dessert spoons and glasses. All in all there’s nothing not to like.

Homely, quirky and comfortable. the best bed we have slept in for ages. Good position a short walk to the beach. private and the owner provided many little things including a welcome pack, with milk, cream, eggs, cookies and more. very thoughtfully presented.

Lovely, quiet location, within an easy walk to Whiffin Spit for amazing birding and sunsets. Perfect jumping off point to explore Juan De Fuca Provincial Park.

Great location and views, you can see sunrise from the backyard as well. Cottage was cozy and comfortable with a sailor's theme interior which was something new for us and we really loved it. Owner was nice and friendly. Overall it was a great and peaceful stay.

There was nothing we didn't like. Just felt like the place was getting a bit dated and so could use a few upgrades such as a built in kitchenette (microwave and counter) and bigger table for sitting. I don't think the "steam shower" worked anymore. I don't want to complain, as these things did not have a big impact on our stay.

Great location, comfy suite and loved the hot-tub! Thanks for also providing robes. Our host left us a wonderful assortment of breakfast and snack items which we greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The room was spacious, comfortable with a well stocked kitchen. It was a short walk to the water and a good location for seeing the rest of the area.
