Some retiling of entrance was being done, so limited entrance/exit to/from main building. Parking a little remote from rooms.

Excellent Staff. Very hospitable and helpful. Pets permitted in some common areas. Staff provided excellent guidance during stage 1 fire announcement and muster.

Cozy and welcoming. Plenty of places to sit by the great fireplaces that were always lit. Very attentive staff. Nice selection of restaurants on site yet just a short walk to the waterfront.

I think you should have some type of restaurant or room service that goes past 12. There is nowhere close to get food and it's quite inconvenient.

I did not like that i used booking .com who put the reservstion in and i paid by visa debit but when sending tye reservation to the Algonquin did not sent the payment. Good thing i could access my bank account and saved the payment reciept. This,could have been avoided had the right information been sent to begin with. My family waited in the vehicle for about 40 minutes while the manager and the counter clerk did their best to descaelate the situation.

I like that the manager went out of his way to accommodate and upgrade my room due to a technical error on bookings part

It’s a beautiful spot. I loved the fireplaces and the holiday decorations. The golf course was very lovely to walk around off season ( on the paved pathways). They should make that more known to guests, as it’s not right at the hotel location.

The hospitality was exceptional, especially John Paulo who insured we had the best service and strived to relocate us on the first floor to accommodate our elderly dog. The resort is modern yet transports you back to the turn of the century. The food is delicious too! Bartender from Catherine Town? near “The Falls” very personable. The hostesses that worked their buns off on New Years (sorry, forgot your names) kept the restaurant running efficiently and accommodated our every request. All housekeeping staff friendly and very hard working! Thanks for a lovely 60th birthday/ New Years celebration!

I asked for a late check out, which was granted, but two times cleaners tried to come into the room. I even had the do not disturb sign on the door, and they tried to come in around 945am,then again around 1030am.

Unfortunately the breakfast was delayed because of technical problem in the kitchen, but our server was excellent in looking after us. Because of the delay there was no charge for the meal. We were scheduled to be in Montreal that evening so a long drive ahead.

We waited 30 yrs from when we first saw the Algonquin while visiting NS. Decided one day to visit and finally, for our 46th anniversary we booked this Magnificent Hotel. From the first glimpse of the exterior with it's stunning red roof, to the beautiful architecture inside and throughout, we were amazed at the elegance of this wonderful hotel. The huge lounge area has several fireplaces with comfy wing chairs and couches to enjoy drinks, games or watch the view through the gorgeous windows and French doors to the deck. Had dinner in the Right Whale Pub and breakfast in the Braxton restaurant, also with huge fireplaces. Great view from our 4th floor room.

AS stated above, the pigeon poop on the patio. The furniture in the bar was very dated and ruffed up

wonderful location. this hotel is wonderful. It really is a one of a kind. I was very disappointed with our balcony/patio. It was filthy with pigeon poop. I asked twice for it to be cleaned and they didnt until the tird time. But, even though the hotel can do little to prevent this, they should hose down the patios as it is very dangerous to have the poop everywhere. The Braxton restaurant was very good as was the bar. The leather sofas should be replaced. The pub food and ambiance was mediocre for this type of resort. The smokehouse at golf course was wonderful. Great views, food and staff were all great.

The manager at the front desk was extremely rude and unprofessional. I was double charged for my stay and everything was great right up until I had to deal with him to get my refund back. My interaction with him completely ruined my stay and I will not be back again.

The location was amazing, most of the staff we dealt with were so nice and accommodating.

We booked a queen room with a view. The room was dark, the windows small, and it looked nothing like the picture in the ad. The bathroom was VERY small. The carpet was worn.
