The interior is a bit dated and could use updating, but not a huge negative. Breakfast had a lot of options but was fair, at best.

Great hotel in an ideal location for a visit to QIngdao. The suite was very roomy and comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay.

Neither tv remote worked when I arrived, 3 requests and 10 days later they were replaced, Mr Wang made that happen :) The air-vents were never cleaned again a request was made to front desk and as back up emailed as I could see front desk were confused. The dust made the room smell when the heating was on. The Swimming pool and sauna was out of order the whole 14 days. Concierge had no tourist information on Qingdao at all, not in English or Chinese. As no-one on the front desk spoke English simple requests for things like "Ice for Drinks", "What nights are the Night Markets on?" or "When will the pool be open?" were met with blank stares.

Our suite was spacious and clean other then the filthy air-vents. The general manager Mr Wang on the floor during our last few days saved our experience, he was very helpful and his English was perfect. Google Translate is problematic and slow in China even with a VPN installed.

- Prior to my arrival, I wrote several messages via booking.com and also sent them an email. Till now, I haven't received a response from the hotel. - when reach the hotel, there was no conceriage staffs outside to offer luggage assistance. My sister and I arrived 2 huge suitcases and went inside the lobby. Even though the conceriage counter was right next to the main entrance with few staffs standing behind counter. There was no greetings, or any help offered from them. Only thing they did was Just Looking. - Expected a quick check in especially after a long flight. But had to wait for a bit which made me exhausted. - check in process was off standard. Staff didn't even bother to say welcome to our hotel xxx. He didn't confirm my reservation details, didn't clarify if breakfast is included etc. I mentioned to him that I would like to pay for the room charge right away, as I'm leaving early in the morning the next day. However the staff refused and asked me to pay upon check out. - conceriage was awful. Simply awful. Not sure if they are being hired to chit-chat behind the counter. They wasn't helpful and pretty Rude. - toilet was blocked since we checked in.

The hotel, including the rooms were supposed to be non-smoking but all rooms reeked with smoke smell, which made it very uncomfortable. Also, sofas had stains and rooms are in urgent need for renovation and furniture need modernization.

for the IHG member you can’t reserve the table for breakfast. sometimes you can’t get a table, it’s a fully occupied.

Very little to dislike, the spa service wasn't available on the night we stayed but that is a minor issue.

Very comfortable, booked a larger suite and wasn't disappointed. Had sea view and was a wonderful vantage point to watch the light show.

Executive lounge needs to reopen, I've stayed in many executive club suites, being able to sit on a comfortable couch at any time of the day is very relaxing with coffee etc - a restaurant isn't the same, although still very nice staff and food!

All the interiors are very dated/shabby in parts. The room was damp, presumably from the sea. The room toilet was broken, the bedside lamps didn’t work properly and so on. The breakfast wasn’t a great quality / extensive selection for western breakfast at least.

The staff were friendly. Its location is pretty good.
