AustraliaCommunication about airport transport after booking was rather too minimal.
We had a comfortable stopover here between Australia and Europe. Might be a bit challenging to get there from the airport by cab without some Chinese, but we (with decent Mandarin) waited in the line for cabs to Xiamen city area outside the terminal and paid 35 CNY (the fare was the same on the way back -- the concierge called us a cab. Both ways cab drivers were happy to use their meter and to take cash). Front desk staff spoke pretty decent English and check in was easy -- there was a brief quibble about whether or one or two breakfasts were included in the rate but this was solved quickly and appropriately. The room was quite comfortable although the bathroom, though well fitted out was starting to show a bit of age. A really nice buffet breakfast, too. All in all a very good stay and great value compared to Australia.

Hotel was top class, absolutely amazing value as it was a 5 star hotel. Room was amazing and bed so comfortable. I was only on a stopover but the staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was one of the best I have had in Asia. Great location, but unfortunately I had quite an early flight so couldn't fully explore. The check in was so easy, and the receptionist spoke excellent English, and the concierge arranged a taxi for me in the morning to the airport and told the driver exactly where to take me.

The hotel is in a great location for visiting Xiamen. It is right next to a metro station and within easy walking distance of the International Ferry Terminal for ferries to Gulangyu. It's also next to Huweishan Park, which has lots of walking trails. The room was big and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly.
