The reception staff were really slow and made no effort to tell us anything about our room or even the hotel. Very strange. And though the breakfast was included it was pretty disappointing, in Denmark i expect good fresh high quality rye bread and ordinary bread, both had been frozen, terrible. Despite this we did enjoy our stay;”, they just need to work a bit more on their service.

The hotel is located at the very beautiful Kolding Fjord. It is right next to the water edge and excellent for a great walk and zipping a drink on the terrace.

One small thing is the bikes, these are quite damaged, the one on which I was riding had a damaged saddle and the tire was bald.

We are very pleased with the stay, the hotel is very charming, located in a beautiful place, on the outskirts of the city. In the vicinity of trees and the fjord.

Only issue was booked a water view room, great room but in a secondary building in the forest above the main hotel and then with view of trees with water glimpses, rather than the fjord itself. Suspect this could be better explained in the booking process as a bit disappointed not to be in the main hotel which looked fantastic, and then not with a clear view of the water, probably my fault in booking but did not realise the above until checkin

Transported to a serene and calm location. The surroundings are stunning, located in Kolding Fjord. The hotel itself, is grand without being pretentious. Double Rooms hugely spacious. I used for a business trip, but will come back with partner.

Few things; - I was expecting sleepers to be available in 4* hotel, especially one with a carpet in the rooms - the hotel had several things going on a the time we booked the room - some organized parties. While we completely understand that this can happen, we were not informed by the staff before arrival that we may not be able to get any dinner due to entire staff working for the parties, or get a cofe/tea from the bar (we literally had to ask for a favour and the staff did it but in a hurry which felt really weird). If hotel knows ahead of time that they are going to have parties all over the place, they should inform other guests about any potential issues. - same reason as above, the breakfast was completely off. Due to staff being overrun. We had to ask few times for the table to be cleaned, and to get basic things like coffee or even some glasses. - for 4* hotel to not have allergens listed at the breakfast is also extremely weird. We had to ask about things all the time, and the staff was very busy due to great amount of people there so we literally stood there for minutes waiting for someone to help us out. Maybe at some other time, this hotel is great. But from a 4* I would expect the manager to plan better and ahead of time - instead of the entire thing running on a fumes and spoiling the experience for anyone that was not part of some kind of organized party.

Breakfast is quite disappointing as the range of options is very limited and there is no option to order an omelet or a sunny side up egg. General food quality leaves more to be desired. Restaurant is not very welcoming and has a lot of potential that hasn’t been unleashed yet. Given the space the hotel has it could have had more facilities for the kids.

Amazing location with a stunning view, very beautiful building and the area around it. Swimming pool is quite good, though maybe a little bit cold for the kids. Rooms are very sweet and clean.

this hotel is not what it seems at arrival we were told the restaurant and bar were off limits due to a function (wedding) but we could order room service and eat in our room??? we were out in a basement room in a separate building with no ventilation or air conditioning. the windows are level with the ground, so windows could not be opened. during the night cars from the function left, with each one creating noise and shining their lights directly into our room as the basement room is right next to the road. breakfast was less than good. pancakes were hard and burnt black eggs were runny with water fruit was a bowl of apples coffee was terrible and old, sitting on your table when you arrived…? this hotel looks amazing from the photos when you book and when you arrive it is absolutely beautiful from the outside. and that’s where it stops. it’s a big conference/ function venue with absolutely no consideration for the individual guest. after being very disappointed with the situation I looked through the reviews, only to see that there are dozens and dozens of comments with exactly the same feedback, suggesting that the hotel has no motivation to change anything to accommodate the guests. and what a pity, because it could be so nice. can you imagine paying a fortune to be told at arrival that you are not allowed into the restaurant or bar, and that you have to drive back to the nearest town to get food, unless you want to sit in your room?? it’s almost unbelievable. very disappointing

Staff was rude.They didn't feel us great.Especially last night we wanted to eat dinner at the hotel as previous 2 days and they said that there is no place for you because we have a company meeting at the hotel for dinner and only room service you can take. If they want they could make it.They didn't want because they were busy.Shortly I can say they ignored us.Very very bad behavior for the gusests.So we slept without eating anything. Very poor service

during a weekend with a wedding at the venue there was a lot of noise from the (drunk) guests during the night. On a hot summer day and no A/C in the room it means the windows were open to cool the room = disrupted sleep.

The feeling of a care facility and the large dining room are the hotel's weaknesses. But the view saves everything..

The building looks like a castle on the outside but the inside gives more of an impression of a healthcare facility, the history is hard to hide despite valiant attempts. You want to like the hotel, but it is obvious that the physical limitations are difficult. We lived in the annex on the height behind the main building, also a nice building from the outside. Comfortable room but boring, not at all the feeling that the "castle" gives off. The dinner at the restaurant was ok but not more than that. The dining room gives associations to ferry, only the vibrations are missing. Large-scale business is difficult to get pleasant. But the view over the bay is magnificent! it saves everything. Take a stroll along the water or a morning swim from the jetty, it will be memorable.

Staff during breakfast were rude and didnt want to clean us a table to have breakfast (I needed to ask several times and I felt discriminated for not being Danish). Food quality was low.

Wedding was there so we were not allowed to be on either terrace. Dinner not possible because wedding. Pool and gym was closed (sealed off). Big skylight in ceiling made room bright 4am.

Due to a cancelled ferry, we arrived at 22:15. We knew that the restaurant would close at 22:00. I still requested a bite to eat for my son who has diabetes: just a slice of bread or anything else to eat would have be satisfactory. Of course we would pay. Even though we clearly expressed that our request for some kind of food was for medical reasons, we could not get anything. We had to drive 10 km to the nearest McDonald 😖.

Good locations, close to the highway - nice scenery. Real nice complex of buildings. Easy and fast check-in and check-out. Good breakfast.

The room booked and paid for was supposed to be 25m2… I think they meant 25 square foot as the room was tiny and nowhere near 25m2

Here you won't feel welcome. You arrive and get asked to produce a credit card. You get handed your "breakfast tickets" and gets told that you can have your breakfast between 7:30 and 8:30. Then they give you the card for your room and you get told how to get there. From then on you won't meet any staff except for checking your "breakfast ticket" in the morning. The pool was freaking cold. The sauna was not warm and leaking heat from a door that was not mounted correctly. In the evening at 9 pm the room next door had left their room-service left-overs outside of their door. The next day at 10:45 am it was still there which proves my point that you won't see any smiling staff here. They are simply not around. Last thing that didn't bother me too much - but if you don't like tobacco smoke this is not the place to go. People seem to be smoking everywhere (outside) all the time. This place is nothing special when it comes to making their guests feel at home. Any other hotel in the area can do this - except for maybe the location.

The hotel is located at one of the most beautiful places in Denmark - easy accessible. The hotel is an old building but kept in mint condition. As a foreigner you may find this incredible interesting.
